The Pactmaker: Part II

Xraktos

As I continued my trek through the castle, I sensed the tenseness near the medical wing and headed towards it. Just as I appeared there, I found Kyxsha running down the hall with the child Lucinde in her arms. I gave one look into the medical wing and found it abandoned. I turned my head back as she continued to try and get away, and I summoned nobodies to stop her. They made a barricade, and Kyxsha turned around quickly as I walked slowly forwards.

“I am not in the mood to play these games,” I said caustically. “If you chose to fight me, I will beat you down and then tear that child in your arms apart.”

“Kiki!” the child’s voice yelled out in terror.

“Silence,” I answered. “Make your decision and make it quick.”

Kyxsha seemed to stop and consider, but I knew she had made up her mind when she had formed her Bazooka in her hand. Several of the Dusks I was using to see through backed up quickly. I smirked a bit and formed Cypher in my hand again.

“I cannot call upon a summon again,” I said quietly. “But…..I can certainly fight one person.”

Kyxsha slowly bent down on the floor and set the child away from the lesser nobody blockade but still behind her. She aimed the Bazooka directly at me, and a rush of air exploded through the room. I locked my legs just as I had when Aska had unleashed his own immense air attack, but it seemed that the drain on my energy was too great at the moment for I began to slide back just a bit. I relocked my legs and whipped Cypher forwards.

Once more Cypher formed into the cat-o-nine-tails and darted at Kyxsha. She tried to blow Cypher back with a large gust of air, but I flicked my wrist and the nine ends whipped through the air currents. Kyxsha backed up just enough to get away from Cypher, but she was indeed backed into a perpetual corner with the nobody blockade.

Suddenly, I felt an undercurrent try and trip me. I glared directly at the child who looked back at me with an ominous glare. She had bent down on the ground and continued to rush the current under Cypher and at my legs. It was little use though, for I had trained with Sylph many times in the past and had experienced a much stronger current of air.

“You no hurt Kiki,” the child said glaring at me.

“Such a nuisance,” I answered back.

With a twist of my hand, two of Cypher’s tails shot at the child. Kyxsha’s scream was nothing more of a ring in the background. There was nothing she could do to save the child anyway for she was still backing away from the other seven tails and trying to blast them away with air.

Just as the tails reached the child, the sound of metal beating Cypher back. The Dusks proved to be inefficient in the fact that they could not show me everything at once, but soon enough the image came. The blue haired rogue was standing in front of the child, and another girl, Minx, was slowly picking the child up.

“Tamex what are you doing here??? Get away quick!” Kyxsha’s voice yelled. Cypher knocked up against metal as Kyxsha began using her own Bazooka as a kind of metal bat.

“Triskix said you were disposed of,” I said looking directly at Tamex. “But it seems he is a liar. No matter now…You’ll be put to use….”

Almost all the Dusks were now focusing in on him for me. He had his wave scythe out and was using it to block the two tails. I flicked my wrist and the tails retracted and tried again. This time they hit something directly in front of Tamex. It appeared to be a mirror.

“Stay away from Tamex!” Minx’s voice yelled angrily.

“ENOUGH,” I answered. Cypher retracted, and I started summoning. I didn’t care what it did to me; I would summon another spirit to deal with this.

“Guardian of the summons of the sea, Udinie, I summon the,” I said quickly.

A ring of blue light appeared on the floor just as the summon for Aska had. A rush of bubbles exploded out of it, and came together to form the outline of a mermaid form. Sitting up directly in the summon circle, Udinie looked about. Unlike Aska, Udinie was an old summon spirit and did not question my antics.

“Pactmaker Kratos I will do you building as long as you adhere to the pact we made,” Udinie said.quickly.

“Agreed,” I answered.

“What do you wish of my skill today?” Udinie asked.

“Deal with this rogue,” I answered pointing to Tamex. “And take him and the two he is protecting into the dungeons afterwords.”

“As you wish,” Udinie answered.

Water gushed out over the summon circle and drenched the floors. Udinie formed the water around her and then rushed at Tamex. Minx screamed and raised up her mirrors, but by then, I jumped into her mind and started breaking down her mirrors from within her mind. Udinie slashed at the mirror with a blue trident and it smashed into a million pieces. The sound of metal on metal echoed through the room.

I turned my attention back to Kyxsha. She was still beating back Cypher, and I continuously flicked my wrist and launched more attacks. Kyxsha began brushing back with more waves of air. She couldn’t keep this up for much longer, and we both knew it.

“Lady Kyxsha!” Tamex yelled. “Take Lucinde and get out of here!”

“Tamex you take Minx and get out of here!” Kyxsha yelled back.

“No!” Minx yelled. “Kyxsha we can take care of this! Find Triskix and the others!”

“Weaklings!” Udinie yelled atop their voices. “Water Pulsation!”

The water rushed at Tamex in a wave, and he pulled up his scythe to block the attack. Minx had Lucinde in her arms and was running towards Kyxsha. I flicked my wrist and Cypher began his assault on the two. Somehow, Minx managed to pull up another blasted mirror and beat back Cypher. I flicked my wrist again and the mirrors shattered. One of Cypher’s tails was headed straight for them.

“Kyxsha!” Minx yelled throwing Lucinde up. “Hurry and get out of here!”

One of the Dusks watched the child fly through the air and use a gust of air to land safely behind Kyxha. Uidinie saw this as well and decided to end her game with Tamex. She summoned up a tidal wave and blasted it directly at Tamex. The sound of water crashing a body into the walls rang through the room.

As the water receded, Tamex’s unconscious body lay limp on the ground.

“Tamex!” Minx yelled.

I ordered several Dusks to take Tamex up before Mix could do anything. Minx formed a mirrors with a point at the end in her hand.

“GIVE HIM BACK!” She yelled charging straight at me.

“Minx!” Kyxsha tried, but I whipped Cypher up and slammed three tails straight into Minx. It whipped her back and into a wall. She was about to lose consciousness.

“Kyxsha!” Minx yelled. “Hurry! Find them! Ple-……….”

Minx’s muscles relaxed and her mind went off far away into her own imagination. I turned to Kyxsha and Lucinde and quietly started walking forwards. The fear in her eyes did not hinder my continual steps forwards. Before I could take more steps forwards, Kyxsha backed up and used the last of her energy to open a portal. She grabbed Lucinde’s hand and ran through it. I remained silent.

Martel’s face rocked into my mind for a moment, and I couldn’t explain why. I didn’t move and remained completely silent.

“Kratos….shall I find her?” Udinie asked.

“………..” was my answer.

“Well?” Udinie asked.

“…….”

“I will take that as a no then….if that is all Kratos…”

“Then take your part of the bargain,” I answered.

I felt another wave of energy leave me, and with that Udinie disappeared. A Dusk came and picked up Minx and transported her to the dungeon. I stood there quietly.
