Siluxsce
“Siluxsce hehehe what’cha doin’ girl?” Fenrex said breaking my concentration. My eyes diverted over to him somewhat angrily. I had been listening intently to these people that had entered Citadel so welcomed, and yet that annoying Nefer decided to go and beak it.
“Fenrex,” I glared angrily at him. “Are you even aware that there are new people in this castle?”
“Hm?” he asked, and all I could do was shake my head at him.
“Nefer you dork,” I said smacking my forehead.
“Hey hey now,” Fenrex answered. “Don’t act like that Celsius.”
“The Pactmaker is still around you know,” I glared. “And even though we managed to void our own pacts when we became nobodies, that doesn’t mean that he won’t try and make a new pact later on.”
“Hahahaha Siluxsce,” Fenrex laughed shaking his head. “Every time you say nobodies it makes me laugh so hard. We both know that…”
“SHUSH!” I roared shoving my hand nearly down Fenrex’s throat. “There could be others around.”
“But there’s not dear Celsius,” he answered. “I made sure of that.”
I stared at him for a moment.
“One of your ‘pranks’?” I asked.
“But of course,” Fenrex answered. “We can talk freely as always.”
I turned around and stared at the wall that I had been hearing through. The ice woman from before was with the party that had entered the castle, and a question ran through the air around me. Why would these people obviously the enemy come so close? And why have they yet to be attacked by the others of this castle? I all but glared at the wall causing it to freeze over mildly.
“Celsius.”
“What?” I asked sharply, but as I turned around, I found that it was not Fenrex who had talked. Instead, Maxwell, Origin, and Udinie stood before me in their spiritual forms. I all but glared at them.
“What are you doing here?” I demanded.
“It was easy enough to locate your summon signatures, and since you have already broken your pact, we decided to find you and Nefer first,” Udinie answered staring at me.
“You broke your pacts?” I asked looking at them all.
“So this is where you and Nefer were hiding, Celsius,” Maxwell smiled. I shook my head at him and continued glaring.
“Ah Grandpa Maxwell,” Fenrex laughed. “I didn’t expect to see you to-day.”
“Indeed there are many things going on at the moment,” Origin said darkly. “Kratos’s time is ending and pacts are falling to bits.”
“We all fought the children that have not started this conflict but continued it,” Udinie commented. “And by the looks of things they intend to end it. It is time that we take up summon responsibilities once more; we are looking for Kralan’s descendant. Will you not come back with us? Nefer? Celsius?”
“Karlan’s descendant lives?” I asked looking at Fenrex.
“Yes indeed, and he has even created a new summon named Corine,” Maxwell answered. “Do you not sense Karlan’s power has once again been awakened?”
In that moment, I did feel the mana level had increased tenfold.
“If the tree lives,” I began. “Then….”
“Yes then our loyalty lies only with him now that our pacts are finished,” Origin answered.
“No,” I answered. “My loyalty lies with NO ONE. I will note tricked by anyone again! I refuse it! Not even for the Karlan Tree! I refuse! I’m free! I repeat! F-R-E-E! I will stay under the name Siluxsce and I will be free!”
“We are summons Celsius,” Maxwell answered. “Even the youngest boy, Aska, realizes his duty to Kralan. We were not created to be free. It is time we return to our duties.”
I turned my head quickly looking for someone that understood what I wanted.
“Fenrex?” I asked, but his face had changed solemnly.
“The charade is over Celsius. Even I know it...I am Nefer once more….” Nefer answered closing his eyes. In that instant, Fenrex’s body fell forwards leaving Nefer in his spiritual form. He stood in front of me with his truest form showing. As I looked upon Nefer’s form, I saw the thin body of a brown monkey gripping a staff. The crown of pranks that Loki had bestowed upon Nefer years ago, sat atop the monkey’s head.
“Nefer not you too!” I said backing up, but Nefer shook his head.
“Even I the summon of pranks knows when there are more important things to deal with. Let’s go Celsius,” Nefer said reaching out one monkey arm.
“NO!” I answered. “STAY BACK! That is your choice but it’s not mine!” I froze the room around us, but none of the summons were phased in their spiritual from. They started towards me calmly, and a strange fear gripped me. I turned and ran out of the room and down the hall freezing the walls and floors as I went.
“I won’t be chained to a Pactmaker that killed me! I won’t be chained to the Karlan tree that failed me! LEAVE ME ALONE! I would rather stay MORTAL than this!” I yelled back to them.
None of the other summons said anything, they just continued to follow me as I ran away. Shock tears started running down my eyes and forming into ice crystals. I didn’t care what they said! I didn’t care! I had to get away. I would get away. I wouldn’t be a part of this any longer! Ice spikes ejected from the floors and ceilings, but it did not hold off the summons.
