I looked directly at this little girl and laughed. She thought she was up to fighting me and my water pulsations? How frivolous how juvenile how annoying. Seeing that Origin was looking at me for a split second, I glared at him expressing my desire to begin the fight. With that, both of us began attacking our opponents.
I formed my purple trident and whipped water around me. The little girl held a keyblade and seemed ready to defend herself. I nearly laughed. At least Origin was fighting someone even remotely close to his power. I was to fight such a little girl?? What blasphemy.
“You’re just a tiny little thing aren’t ya?” I taunted. “I doubt you even have an ounce of strength.” I let out a laugh that echoed through the area. Whipping the water around me, I made a sphere to keep my tail end in and sat atop the water looking at the girl.
“Heheh, I love killing children like you,” I smiled. “Drowning is such a lovely art dear….”
The look of instant fear that ran across the girl’s face made me laugh even harder. She was so young. Probably the youngest of their group. An image of the first time I had dragged a body under water, but it stung my nerves. I brushed the thoughts away quickly and glared at the girl.
“D-don’t think I’m weak,” the child said trying her best to leer at me. I laughed back.
“Heheheh oh you silly little girl,” I answered. “You are weak.”
“No I’m not!” the girl answered. I smiled a bit.
“We’ll see then,” I answered. I held my trident high and shoved it forwards in the air commanding the water around me to pulse out towards the girl. I reinforced the attack by adding more water behind it. This was the attack that I had used only the man with blue hair previously that had knocked him unconscious. It was more than enough to deal with this whelp.
Just as the attack was about to hit, the girl brought her keyblade up and slashed forwards releasing her own water pulse. The two pulsations smashed into each other violently, but mine persisted and brushed the girl back a bit. She dug her heels into the ground and managed to regain her stability. So this little girl did have some attacks. I smile a shark toothy smile at her. This was going to be more fun that I had thought.
“Well well heheheh so you do have a few tricks up your short sleeves,” I smiled. “Let’s see if you can keep up.”
Instantly I began pulsating more and more water at the girl. She repelled the water as best she could, and slowly I saw that she began running diagonally towards me with her keyblade in hand. Watching her legs, I felt a tinge of annoyance. I continued to pulse more and more water at her aiming for those running sticks humans called legs. I’d break her of those first.
Seeming to sense my intensions somehow, the girl began to back away from me and started trying to puse more water directly at me. What a joke. Attacking the water summon with her own element? What a horribly cynical joke.
“Little witch!” I hissed at her beating back her futile attempts to attack me. “I’ll make you pay for that!”
“Tch, no you will pay,” I answered putting my thumb to my lip. “Water Hand Grip….”
I quickly raised the water level around us careful not to interfere with Origin’s battle. From the water, hands began to reach out towards the girl. A panicked look ran out of the girl’s eyes, and she began beating the hands back with swipes of her keyblade. Her frightened breathing started running into my ears, and I let out a high pitched laugh.
The girl continued to smack away the hands, but slowly the gripped around her legs, and the finally one extended hand reached out and grabbed the back of her coat. It pulled her back quickly in the water, and she fell back and smacked into the water. I smiled. Now it was time to watch the little one drown….
I moved in the water slowly toward the girl. Even laying down in the water, she seemed to struggle for life. I glared down at her but made sure that my face was still smiling. I rose the water level ever so slightly around her head and body almost in the form of a casket tank, and for a moment panic reigned through the girl. The panic died, but the fight to get free continued. The girl flailed around trying to get free from the hands that still held her even below the water, but they held tightly and firmly.
I laughed hard and continued to raise the water level to the point that the water was above her mouth and nose. Now all that was left was to watch and wait for the rigors that meant water hit the lungs. Then the body would spasm and slowly die. The girl’s eyes looked around wildly as if looking for a way to save her from the watery casket, and I laughed once again.
“Good bye dear…” I smiled.
“NO!” the girl roared through the water.
Suddenly I felt the water ripped away from my power along with the water hands. The casket tank exploded, and I was forced back by my own water. The girl was struggling to her feet, but she was indeed recovering. I glared at her darkly. Had such a whelp such a tiny fish such as she managed to snatch the power of water away from me? No. It was a fluke. That was what it was. I had lost control for a moment in my joy. Yes that was what it was. Just a fluke. A fluke that would not happen again.
I stayed away as the girl slowly got up.
“No…I won’t go down like this. I just got to see the Family again….I won’t lose!” she yelled.
“Tch, such a strong will,” I said glaring at her. “But will won’t help you here.”
I raised my trident just below my waist so that I could react with any attack this girl tried. She gripped her keyblade with both hands and shoved it in the water. The tenseness of the water broke into vibrations. I looked over quickly and found that Origin was starting to use massive attacks on the man.. So it was them I felt. Just a different battle. This girl had nothing.
But the vibrations continued and only in the water. Could it really be coming from her? No. It was a fluke. Just some sort of water disturbance. But as I looked further into the matter, I found that the pulsations were only growing larger. My eyes moved directly to the keyblade sticking in the water, but before I could think further, the water around the keyblade began swirling extremely fast. She was making a whirl pool!
I instantly began making my own whirl pool and help my trident high. I would counteract the girl’s whirl pool and then skewer this small fy. As both whirl pools met each other, they thrashed against each other violently.
Suddenly I felt a pact break. My eyes diverted over to where Origin and the man were fighting, and I had to keep my jaw from dropping. Origin was rearing backwards and turning into his spiritual form. Had that man truly defeated Origin???
I couldn’t focus on that right now. I had to finish off the girl quickly and then the man. The whirl pools continued to smash into each other and roar out with an extreme ferocity.
“Xemmsur!” the man said running towards us.
“Stay back!” the girl yelled back. “This is my fight!”
The man stopped as if he were deciding whether or not to adhere to the command.
“You’re loss!” I yelled. “I will win!”
With that I whipped the current forwards and rode my own whirl pool towards the girl. I released a water pulsation, but the girl beat back the water with her keyblade and seemed to ride her own whirl pool towards me.
In one last clash, I brought my trident down upon the girl. I would win! But then….just as my hopes soared, my trident met the resistance of the keyblade. Then the girl slid the keyblade up my very trident and made an impact over my heart.
The sound of cracking was the last I heard in my tangible state. The cracking of my pact. I breathed in.
I formed into my spiritual form quickly and breathed out. Never had such a child with such power….The child had defeated me....there was nothing to be done about it....
“Udinie…we were expect you,” Maxwell’s voice said calmly. I turned my head sharply and found that both Origin and Maxwell were before me.
“I see…” I sighed out a bit. “This group has beaten three of us….and Kratos’s pact with me is done…”
“Indeed,” Maxwell answered. “as I said to Origin, these children are strong and deserve or respect and recognition, but we have ties to activities and other matters. We must no longer interfere with any of this group’s activities.”
“I understand,” I answered. “Kratos may fight his own battles from now on, but what about the others? Luna, Aska, Sylph, Volt, all of the others are still bound in pact, and has anyone even seen Celsius or Shadow?”
“We will wait for them to join us in time,” Maxwell answered. “For I believe the pactmaker days are numbered…As for Celsius and Shadow, they will come when they want.”
I sighed and turned to the scene of the girl and the man and crossed my arms.
“What shall we do in the mean time then?” I asked.
“Look for the Karlan's descendant of course…” Maxwell answered.
“But what of the goddess Martel?” Origin asked.
“Kratos will no doubt find her in the end,” Maxwell answered. “We must focus on another task…”
“Indeed,” I answered.
