Something?

My head pounded and my stomach felt like it was on the verge of either spilling gastric juices into the rest of my organs and killing me or simply collapsing into a mound of flesh. As I slowly regained consciousness, my eyes couldn’t focus on anything which caused a mass amount of blurriness.

As things slowly became clear, I found I had been chained up by my legs and was hanging upside down. All the blood it seemed had already run to my head, and even this understanding that hanging upside down was the cause of my mass headache came slowly to my mind. Once I gripped this reasoning, I began trying to remedy this predicament. Even against the screams from my nervous system, I started swinging upside down until I could successfully grab one of the chains at my ankles and pull myself upright. It took several swings, but once my fingers locked around the chain, I pulled myself upright and grabbed the other chain.

This left me in a standing position, but now the pressure was strictly on my legs which felt like rubbery jelly at this point. They wouldn’t last long, but at least the pressure between my temples would stop hammering at my nervous system like one of those mallets used at the amusement parks to test strength.

Still trying to grasp my thoughts into something even closely related to thinking, I began looking around through the haze of my eyes. I shook my head a bit and waited for the haze to fade away, and as it did, I began to wish it hadn’t. As I looked around, all I saw was more and more suffering nobodies chained up in various positions three of which resembled what I had previously been forced into.

The first thought that rammed into my still recovering mind was the battle with the Leader. Had Kyxsha escaped? I had hoped so. The second full thought all but shocked me into wondering why it had not been the first thought. Lady Minx. She had experienced the fight as well. I looked around, but just as I thought I saw the misty hair of Minx, something pushed me back to my upside down position.

The immediate impact of the blood rushing to my head once more caused bile to form in my mouth. I shook my head and looked around to spot what exactly had shoved me back. It was only then that I realized there was a lesser nobody standing by the door. He looked as if he were playing ‘watch dog’ or something, and for a moment, probably due to my spermatic nerves from having the blood rush to my head again, I laughed seeing one of the Queen’s watch dogs guarding the exit.

This lasted only a minute, and after the image in my mind had faded, I started to wonder exactly why I was thinking of home at this point in time. I guess I really needed a vacation after this…maybe somewhere with beaches…and lots of girls…yes….Against my will and still probably because of the pressure in my head, my mind went off to a scene of beaches and relaxation.

“Tamex?” a voice asked, and through my almost self-imposed delusion, I realized it was Lady Minx. I quickly shoved the plans for a vacation away and started back to the tasks at hand.

“M….Minx…” I said, and it was only then that I realized I hadn’t even accrued the honorary ‘Lady’ in front.

“Tamex!” Lady Minx said louder. “You’re awake!”

It became harder to think again, and I started wanting to go back to vacation planning….maybe with a lot of ladies…yes….

“Tamex!” Lady Minx said again.

“Sorry…sorry,” I said in delusion. “One lady at a time thank you..”

Suddenly a rush of pain went through my shoulder, and I realize I was being pushed back as well. The swinging motion made my stomach cringe again, and out of instinct rather than thought I swung upright again. The blood left my head quickly this time, and all the thoughts roaming in my mind seemed to vanish into a clear understanding of what was going on.

I looked at my shoulder where the pain had accumulated and found that something small had hit it to a point that it would not bruise. I looked once again to the place I had thought I saw Minx, and sure enough there she was. Her face was a tempest of contrasting emotion between irritation and on the verge of saying sorry.

I didn’t have time to register everything that had transpired before the lesser nobody went and pushed me upside down again. Now there was a sting of irritation running through me.

“Son of a lesser nobody you are so not getting a Christmas present from me!” I yelled at the lesser as he moved back to his post at the door.

“Tamex!” Minx said again. “Can you get out?”

“IF THE BLOOD PRESSURE IN MY CRANIUM WOULD STOP TRYING TO FOG UP MY LIFE I WOULD STOP TO CONSIDER IT!” I yelled angrily back.

Lady Minx gave me a somewhat confused look, but all I could think about was my nervous system. Suddenly a simple idea ran into my head, and I wondered why I had not stopped to consider it before. All I had to do was cut myself down from the chains and I would be able to get down. I started summoning my wave scythe, but I found that I could even find the summon of it.

“I tried that too….” Lady Minx said, and I turned my head just enough to catch her looking down. “That man did something to where we can’t even bring up any power…”

“Lady Minx..” I said calmly. “I didn’t mean to get you into this…you should have run when you had the chance….I’m sorry….Lady Minx…I’m sorry…”

Lady Minx looked back and shook her head a bit.

“We just have to get out,” Lady Minx answered. “There has to be…a way…”
