Anyone notice that in the most recent Naruto Shippudden episode Kinkaku and Ginkaku (the two that got swallowed by the Kyuubi) also had the three 'whiskers' on the sides of their faces. Just like Naruto! I guess I just liked the attention to detail that the manga-ka showed with that. People who've had prolonged contact with the Kyuubi all had similar characteristics, at least the males did anyway.
