Caption Battle: Rrrrrrrrip!

"It's that time again..."
"To start learning Muay Thai?"
"To continue cursing the Blackhawks?"
"No... it's time for this week's caption battle!"

But first, last week's winners:

In third place, keeping things current and relevant: Rei-syn!

Ash: What do you mean that I'm too old for Pokemon Black and White?

In second place, because I love Highlander and things that remind me of Highlander: Ace!

Ash receives news that he has been diagnosed with Anime Aging Disorder. He stands in silent, sorrowful contemplation at the realization that ten years from now, he will still be a ten year old boy, perpetually wandering the Earth in a quest to capture every species in a world that discovers 200 more every three years.

Misty, on the other hand, is now being told that her screentime is terminally ill.

And in the coveted first place for just being super snappy and all-encompassing of the entire image... Dradonstorm!

And the father is....

I need to say it, I'm super impressed by this week's entries. There weren't a whole lot of them, but quality over quantity is a wonderful thing sometimes. Well done, everyone!

Alright, so this week's screencap comes courtesy of kittens 3 and features the series "Наруто: Ураганные легенды". The characters, from left to right, are Neji Hyuuga, Tenten, and Rock Lee. I know, real names; I'm going soft on you guys...

You know the drill: type up the funniest, wittiest, most original caption you can think of for the screencap above in the comments below. Also, if any of you would like some tips on writing a great caption, you can find those here.

And like always, theOtaku is open to all submissions and suggestions for weekly feature content. You have a screencap you want used, you can PM me and we can do somethin' about it. So good luck, and remember: it is cleaner to wipe front to back.

Caption Battle: Give It To Me Straight, Doc...

"It's that time again..."
"To discuss Crosby vs Ovechkin again?"
"To start cursing the Blackhawks?"
"No... it's time for this week's caption battle!"

But first, last week's winners:

In third place for reminding me how hilarious 2004 was: FaithlessFighter!

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BLEACH HAS MORE FANS THAN US! UNBELIEVABLE!

In second place for just being audaciously funny to me: kyouyarenge!

That's right! Ninetails is a fire type! GO MAGIKARP!

And in the coveted first place because I shall forever enjoy a good poop joke... Allamorph!

Where will you be when your laxative hits?

I love getting old archive screencaps out of the way... I wonder if I'll ever recycle down the road? Hmm... anyway, moving on...

This week's screencap comes courtesy of DemonKingAtticus and features some demonic kids' show I've never heard of. The characters are, from left to right, Eric Stuart, Veronica Taylor, and Rachael Lillis. Go for it:

Caption Battle: With All The Strength Of A Raging Fire...

"It's that time again..."
"To learn that Harvard bars don't have equations and stuff on the walls?"
"To finish the caption battle before the podcast?"
"No... it's time for... oh wait..."

But first, last week's winners:

In third place, with a good joke but dropped by (now-fixed) spelling mistakes: xfishyx!

And thus Amu learned what she had done on her drunken night out. On another note, Rima learned that she loves Facebook.

In second place, because the internet is scary: Shinmaru!

Rima told Amu to do a Google image search of herself with the filter turned off. The results were not pretty.

And in the coveted first place out of sheer universality... FaithlessFighter!

No ANYTHING BUT THE FILLER SEASONS!!!

Good job, guys. And for the rest of you all who didn't bother to see if people before you had already used your idea, well... consider yourselves on Cone of Shame(TM) warning.

So this week, I want to get rid of an old screencap that's been staring at me for years in the screencap folder. Comes from ye olde archives, comes from the anime Naruto, and features none other than Maile Flanagan. Now come and help me with my hard drive spring cleaning:

Caption Battle: Bittersweet Nothings...

"It's that time again..."
"To replace your Springfields with Garands?"
"To lament Final Fantasy's abbreviation for Crystal Points?"
"No... it's time for this week's caption battle!"

But first, last week's winners:

In third place, with the best cheerleading joke: Hisaishi!

Give me a K! You're doin' it wrong.

In second place, with the best up-skirt joke: xfishyx!

Ryan is displeased with his end of Miya.

And in the coveted first place, with the catchiest joke... KeenHavoc!

Anything you can do We can do legally.
Everything is more legal When you live in Japan.

As they say, the best things in life are either illegal, immoral, or fattening... moving on...

Since I have a lot of screencaps from him, we're gonna return to the resources of Desbrekomatic: Something More Moe, and use a shot from Shugo Chara! It's an older file so I may be wrong, but on the left should be Rima and on the right should be Amu; have fun with it:

Caption Battle: Neither Bird Nor Plane...

"It's that time again..."
"To unclog the thread from the vacuum cleaner?"
"To stop hating on Darcsens?"
"No... it's time for this week's caption battle!"

But first, last time's winners:

In third place, because it's fun to pick on Ichigo: mariomario!

Even a water bottle becomes interesting after you've heard Ichigo say "good times, good times" for the millionth time.

In second place with a completely honest lesson for all... KeenHavoc!

These youths represent 3 of the known stages of being an Otaku.
First shock and denial, then angst and self-reflection, and finally acceptance.
These stages haven been known to continually repeat though multiple cycles before a midlife crisis.

And in the coveted first place of the final March Member Madness(TM) caption battle with the best one-line story: akari yasutora!

Batou is starting to feel guilty about not getting Miss Anonymous a water.

Eheh heh heh... these captions are funnier because I know them... job well done, folks.

Now that we're out of March Member Madness(TM), we'd best get back into the swing of things. And what better way than to go with our site's best screencap supplier! This week's screencap comes courtesy of Senjo no Desbreko - Moellian Chronicles, and features the series Yumeiro Patissiere. Girl up in the air is Miya Koshiro; the guys beneath her are Satou and Shiotani (though since we didn't know at the time, you may call them Ryan and Esposito if you'd like). Got it? Good. Go:
