Caption Battle (MMM): Two Out Of Three Congoers Agree...

"It's that time again..."
"To buy more interlacing?"
"To interlace a package of bacon?"
"No... it's time for the final March Member Madness(TM) caption battle!"

But first, last week's winners:

In third place with an historically inclined try: cowboysean!

The long lost portion of the Beatles' Abbey Road album cover found at an anime convention.

In second place because the green machine gonna rock the town without being seen: Sakaki Sakura!

Go, Ninja, Go, Ninja, GO!

And in the coveted first place, with an all-encompassing third-degree burn... Shinmaru!

TheO's members get more "perfects" and "greats" in a single DDR session than Masashi Kishimoto will ever get for writing Naruto.

Fun times. And now, sadly, we bring March Member Madness(TM) to its conclusion... with one random girl and a couple of jerks...

This photo comes courtesy of yours truly from Sakura-Con 2008 in Seattle, Washington. On the left is Miss Anonymous; to her right are The Podcasters, Batou (left) and Ichigo (right)! Told ya the final image was gonna be epic:

You know the drill: type up the funniest, wittiest, most original caption you can think of for the screencap above in the comments below. Also, if any of you would like some tips on writing a great caption, you can find those here.

And like always, theOtaku is open to all submissions and suggestions for weekly feature content. You have a screencap you want used, you can PM me and we can do somethin' about it. So good luck, and remember: I'm going to Sakura-Con next week, so if caption battle is late, that's my excuse. So hah.

Caption Battle (MMM): Haters Gonna Hate...

"It's that time again..."
"To remember what side of the fabric is the right side?"
"To learn that collars really suck?"
"No... it's time for this week's caption battle!"

But first, last week's winners:

In third place, taking a slightly re-imagined approach: FaithlessFighter!

Apparently he still has 2 more wishes left.

In second place with an excellent in-universe thought bubble": mariomario!

Was this worth giving Han Solo up to Jabba the Hutt? HELL YES.

And in the coveted first place, because as always, I do love succinct laconicism... Katana!

I'd ship it.

Congratulations, you three... and Shin', you sir, are a dirty, dirty man. Just sayin'.

So in this penultimate week of March Member Madness(TM), we have a photo from Mercury Dragon featuring... Mercury Dragon! The rest are background types. Have fun at your poor peer's expense, now:

Caption Battle (MMM): 80s Child Through And Through...

"It's that time again..."
"To move it, move it?"
"To watch how Heavy it Rains?"
"No... it's time for this week's caption battle!"

But first, last week's winners:

In third place, with the subversive retelling: Solenm Serpent!

Just imagine how the phone feels.

In second place, taking advantage of the surroundings: Kitty K.O.!

These two haven't eaten in days... and that phone's starting to look pretty good right about now...

And in the coveted first place, with a most excellent punch line for the week... KeenHavoc!

Those smiles are ones that are born of pure elation and sin, for within seconds the text that appeared on the phone stated three simple words:
"The DEATHNOTE works."

So far so good for March Member Madness(TM)! Let's see what else we have...

This week we'll take a photo courtesy of Shinmaru featuring... Shinmaru! He's at Anime Expo 2005 in Anaheim, California. He's also with someone who probably isn't Carrie Fisher. Just sayin':

You know the drill: type up the funniest, wittiest, most original caption you can think of for the screencap above in the comments below. Also, if any of you would like some tips on writing a great caption, you can find those here.

And like always, theOtaku is open to all submissions and suggestions for weekly feature content - especially this month, with March Member Madness(TM) upon us! You have a screencap you want used, you can PM me and we can do somethin' about it. So good luck, and remember: Kratos is gonna put some thumbs into some folks' eyes this Tuesday, and that's gonna be awesome.

Caption Battle (MMM): Watched Phone Never Boils...

"It's that time again..."
"To wish the PS2 a happy birthday?"
"To watch Bobby Kotick as the flames rise?"
"No... it's time for March Member Madness!"

But first, last week's winners:

In third place, because Vic's style is not everyone's style: akari yasutora!

I think we'd all be upset if that happened to our pants.

In second place, because it was plain funnier than others: TimeChaser!

Vic is trying to run from the fangirls, but what we don't see is his ankle chained to the table.

And in the coveted first place, because often is it hard to say "velociraptor" without smiling... Ace!

Vic Mignogna tries to explain to his fans that he turned down the chance to reprise his role as Edward Elric in the new Fullmetal Alchemist series in favor of another show, wherein he had the chance to play a velociraptor.

Good week, guys! Wasn't a huge turnout, but those who came to play left a lot of good suff, so I'll consider it a win.

Alright, so this week we officially enter March Member Madness(TM)! First up is the very image that kickstarted this idea in the first place: the photographer is probably Kastom, and the location is Youmacon 2009 in Dearborn, Michigan. Girls in the picture are (from left to right), Nehsriah and Katana. Give 'em a try:

You know the drill: type up the funniest, wittiest, most original caption you can think of for the screencap above in the comments below. Also, if any of you would like some tips on writing a great caption, you can find those here.

Caption Battle: What Did You Just Call Him?!

"It's that time again..."
"To believe together we'll fly?"
"To believe in the power of you and I?"
"No... it's time for this week's caption battle!"

But first, last week's winners:

The bronze medal, for probably catching me on a good day for simple snerking: Sakaki Sakura!

.....Well, that's just silly.

The silver medal, because Hisaishi apparently screwed the pooch with the screencap specs (and left me to take the guff for it): KCHuang!

The real reason the girl has a sweatdrop is not because she's feeding a giraffe that somehow made it through the gym doors, but because SomeGuy got her name wrong.

It's Yakumo, dammit! YA. KU. MO.

And receiving the gold medal for singles Caption Battle, because I was in the mood for cheesy puns... xfishyx!

It could be worse, it could be a cheetah.

I now present your Caption Battle champions! And yes, I am just that fickle sometimes.

So, it's not quite March just yet, but I'm in the mood for some live-action screencaps. So here's a part-way on the road to March Member Madness(TM)! The photo comes courtesy of schultzie from... Anime Central in Rosemont, Illinois? Gentleman in the photo is Vic Mignogna; he's somewhat famous, and the story I got to explain this photo was amazing... but that's for another time. For now, you know what to do:

You know the drill: type up the funniest, wittiest, most original caption you can think of for the screencap above in the comments below. Also, if any of you would like some tips on writing a great caption, you can find those here.
