Caption Battle: Awkwarrrrrd...

"This week's very special Christmas Caption Battle is brought to you by ACME!"
"Whenever we're feeling blue,
here's what we always do,
when your face is long, sing the ACME song,
you'll feel so fresh and new!"

But first, last week's winners:

In third place, because not everyone likes to be called hopeless-but-cute: Koneko Krysta!

Ichigo never dared to use "Rukia" and "moe" in the same sentence ever again after this.

In second place, because Johnny Yong Bosch jokes never get old: TrinityLight!

GO GO POWER RANGER!

And in the coveted first place, driving to the basic heart of the funny... Grayfire!

Rukia cannot dance. Period.

Special mention also needs to be made to Aceburner, who took my fishing bait and actually made something awesome out of it... less mention shall be made of people who unwittingly took said bait. Either way, this week was a quality week for captions. You've all pleased an old man's heart. Thank you.

Being that it's only five sleeps until Christmas, I figured something festive was necessary. So, this week's screencap comes once again from Ye Olde Archives (and Batou - you're a fun guy and I love ya in the platonic way yaoi girls hate, but I'm saying this to you specifically since this comes up every week I do this and you haven't quite figured it out yet - "Ye Olde Archives" refer to my [me, SomeGuy, the guy who does the caption battles] collection of screencaps that I have also picked up). The shot comes from the Ranma 1/2 Christmas OVA, and features Ranma Saotome in the blue and Akane Tendo in his lap; further, if you must know, the girl in the pink pants is Shampoo and the girl in the navy blue tights is Ukyo - the guys in the background are named Harold and Kumar. That's probably more than enough description for one week... you know the rest:

You know the drill: type up the funniest, wittiest, most original caption you can think of for the screencap above in the comments below. Also, if any of you would like some tips on writing a great caption, you can find those here.

And like always, theOtaku is open to all submissions and suggestions for weekly feature content. You have a screencap you want used, you can PM me and we can do somethin' about it. Happy captioning, and Merry Christmas as always!

Caption Battle: No-Panty Flash?! Skill...

"It's that time again..."
"To berate SomeGuy for being late again?"
"To--"
"It's time for the caption battle!"

So yes, last week's winners:

In third place, going the route of evil soul collector: Aceburner!

Tama sensed something was amiss after every question he asked Hayate throughout the day was quickly met with "YOUR IMMORTAL SOUL!"

In second place, dropping taking Domo-kun's place for internet awareness: themakita!

For every 13 year old that tries to download porn off the internet, a cute white tiger dies.

Please think of the tigers.

And in the coveted first place, using all of six words that work on oh so many levels... cougarsama!

Hayate: Is there a Visine for this?

This was an amazing week. Lots of good stuff and I'm extremely proud of all of you. Let's keep that up, shall we?

Alright, so this week's screencap comes courtesy of AsagiTaichou and features good ol' Bleach for its subject matter. For those of you who need 'em, the girl on the left is Michelle Ruff; the guy on the right is Johnny Yong Bosch. Go for it:

Caption Battle: Sworded Affair...

"It's that time again..."
"To tally up another late caption battle?"
"To get SomeGuy to stop reading TV Tropes and do his work?"
"...all y'all suck..."

Ahem... last week's winners:

In third place, appreciating fine-detail of current-gen media: the real yojimbo!

Yet another reason why HD anime is a bad idea.

In second place, because a good fart joke never gets old... the ever-talented Calaya!

Never pose when letting one off, just in case the wind changes and you get stuck like that.

And in the coveted first place because, frankly, it was just that damn good... Manga Pulse's own Tim the Enchanter!

Hey, wanna see my undescended testicle?

Good job, lots of good captions this week, let's not waste any more time...

This week's screencap comes from the ever-resourceful red tigress who brings us a shot from Hayate no Gotoku ("Hayate the Combat Butler"). The human is Hayate; the tiger is Tama. Do it:

Caption Battle: I'll Pitch, You Catch...

"It's that time again..."
"To kill a wave of Nazi Zombies?"
"To make robots pop out of our foreheads?"
"No... it's time for this week's caption battle!"

But first, last week's winners:

In third place, going the (now) classic route that no one else took: darkeangel!

I see dead people...

In second place, actually quoting a well-known showbiz saying that I had quoted earlier in the week: yugi567!

Never work with animals or children.......

And in the coveted first place, being straight-up snickeriffic (yes, that's a real word because I said so)... Miss Anonymous!

This is what happens when it rains men. People die!

This was a pretty good week. Lots of good gems, though there was a lot of repetition too... yes, yes, Edward Cullen is beautiful and girls get retarded when his name/book/anything comes up, we get it. Let's all try a little harder, shall we?

Anyway, on to this week...

This week's screencap comes from Angel Zakuro and features Ookiku Furikabutte ("Big Windup"). The one on the left is Mihashi; the one on the right is Abe. Go for it:

You know the drill: type up the funniest, wittiest, most original caption you can think of for the screencap above in the comments below. Also, if any of you would like some tips on writing a great caption, you can find those here.

Caption Battle: Work Was Murder...

"It's that time again..."
"To remember that if it bleeds, we can kill it?"
"To protect John Connor?"
"No... it's time for this week's caption battle!"

But first, last week's winners:

In third place, just being straight-up cheeky: TimeChaser!

Shinji Ikari: spokesman for Hung Beer.

In second place, taking a simple line and marrying it perfectly to the faces: DarkFox 013!

Shinji: Misato! I just wanted to tell you I love you!

And in the coveted first place, somehow being cute yet crass all at once... Shinmaru!

Misato: "Aw, Shinji, I'm happy to see you, too."

I gotta say, this week had some darn funny stuff. Good job, childrens; let's keep it up!

This week's screencap comes from ye olde archives, and features the series Gunslinger Girls. Said girl in the picture is Henrietta, other guy is a nameless mook. Have at thee:
