[Prompt Response] Goood morning everyone.

Why yes, it's 1:30PM my time, but there is a good reason for that. I will buy a gun and shoot all cicadas and frogs.

Anyways! This is the first part of my character thing. I'll do the monologue later, but I'm very caught up in this chapter of my story I'm writing. And speaking of which, this character is the protagonist of the aforementioned story, The Imperial Guard, and one of my easiest characters to write with ever. Enjoy!

Name: Catalin Kasshen

Nicknames: “Cat” by practically everyone, and “Kitty Cat” and “baby” by Kite. He hates all of the above. XD

Age/Birthday: 18/April 11th

Height: 5’11”

Weight: 138 lbs (skinny, skinny bastard.)

Hair: Black

Eyes: Light blue

Family: His father is Frederick Kasshen, 55. His mother is Alana Kasshen, 47. And he has an older sister, Eliade Kasshen, 28. He hasn’t lived with any of them since he was three, though.

Significant other or prospects: None – Cat is very much not interested in dating the human race in general. Although Kite desperately wants to fix that.

Closest friends: He has a best friend, Chris, who he’s pretty much attached at the hip to: Chris is not only one of the few people he can tolerate, but Chris also has the rare ability to understand the language of Bitchy Aristocrat. Cat is also close with Kite, despite Kite’s monstrous crush on him, and Amara, because Amara is bitchier than he is and he respects that. XD Also a notable mention is Rakan, Cat’s surrogate brother figure who more or less raised him. There’s a lot of tension in their relationship now due to outside circumstances, but Cat’s incapable of saying a bad thing about Rakan.

Enemies: Cat’s talented. He’s the enemy of an entire country. Listing all of his enemies would have us here all day, but at the top of the list are Anwar, who he had to serve throughout his childhood and adolescence, and Fanel and Tima, who cheerfully bullied him for years.

Any other relationships: Well, he’s got quite a few interesting relationships with his fellow revolutionaries. He’s also got some interesting relationships with dead people. Cat has extremely mixed feelings towards his cousin Celeste, who he revered when she was alive. But she also pretty much ensured that his life would be hell.

Religion: None. He’s very much a skeptic.

Likes: Reading, sleeping, chocolate, sarcasm, quiet people, and nice clothes.

Dislikes: Would you like the full list, or the condensed one? Cleaning, getting wet, loud noises, depressing stories, self-sacrificing people, being touched, the color red, waking up before noon, cold weather… I could do more.

Three strengths: He’s incredibly adaptable. He’s not used to things being constant, so he’s always ready for something to change, whether for the best or worst, and he’ll take it in stride, despite the bitching – when it counts, he’s pretty indomitable. He’s intensely protective of the few people he actually likes, but doesn’t smother them with it, since he tends to understand their strengths and limits, as well. He’s very against sticking to tradition when it has no place in the present, and isn’t easily swayed by popular opinion. He could stand to listen to it sometimes, but in the society he lives in, it serves him well.

Three weaknesses: He’s very single-minded and stubborn, insisting on sticking to his guns even when they’re telling him something completely wrong. And when he does turn out to be wrong, even if he knows it perfectly well, he’ll never admit it out loud. Though he tends to think the worst of people, contradictorily, when he likes a person, he will defend them up and down, even when he shouldn’t. Which isn’t a good quality to have in his line of work; there's a character who turns on him later in the story, and it’s something he totally should have picked up on. He can also be extremely timid. His dislike of people stems from the fact that they terrify him.

Talents: Cooking, knife-throwing, lying, and being very, very good-looking. Yes, the last one is a talent.

Pessimist, optimist, or realist? : Total pessimist.

Outer goal: Not dying is a good one. Getting his country out of subjugation would be great, too.

Inner goal: Becoming more confident, capable, and independent.

Important background information: … that would take a while, so I’ll just say that in the course of his short life, he’s gone from being an aristocrat, to the Emperor’s slave, to a revolutionary. I did say he was adaptable.

Criminal record: He’s kind of wanted for treason.

Happiest time in their life so far: When he starts kicking ass. So not quite yet. XD

Any traumatic events: Being given up into slavery at three-years-old, being publicly humiliated once a year to keep his fellow countrymen submissive… though being who he is, he considers it more annoying than traumatic.

Education level: Entirely self-taught, with some help from Rakan. Cat’s very intelligent, though, so he picked up on everything quickly.

Phobias: Blood is the big one. Best case scenario, he’ll just get dizzy, but if he’s already panicking, it won’t end well.

Blood type: AB positive.

Sleeping habits: Anywhere, anytime, with any amount of noise. Though he doesn’t like lying on his side or back – his stomach is the most comfortable for him.

Speech patterns: Prefers to sound articulate. Always “yes” and never “yeah,” no verbal shortcuts like “gonna” or “wanna,” never drops consonants, and doesn’t use contractions when trying to make a point. He’s also uses bigger vocabulary than most, even when completely drunk.

Favorite food: Chocolate! And for actual sustenance-type food, he loves salmon. He's also extremely suspicious of meals that don't involve rice.

Scars: Quite a few thin, vertical scars down his back, and recently, one across his abdomen. Cat’s a punching bag.

Favorite color: Light blue.

Biggest pet peeve: … picking one would take all night. XD

Childhood ambition: To go back to his family, mostly.
