More host family wtfery.

Ahaha, well. This was my Saturday night:

So my host family is always like, "take whatever you want out of the fridge," etc, but either way in hindsight I should have asked. But basically I took a beer out of the fridge. And my host father starts with the whole you should ask first, etc, which I'd understand.

But then he literally lectured me for ABOUT TEN MINUTES on how I need to buy my own alcohol (except I never drink anything except what they give to me personally!) and how that's a rule in homestay and what if somebody wanted to drink it tomorrow, and then he goes ON to talk about how it's Japanese culture to not say things outright so I have to ask about all the things I don't understand which I don't do enough, and I'll never understand Japanese culture if I just study and write "all the time" so I should get out more, and that furthermore because I'm always in my room I don't understand THEM, etc etc etc. Basically he just tears me down while I'm sitting there waiting to eat my dinner, and he won't let me just put the damn beer back in the fridge because hell if I even want it anymore.

AND THEN. When I think I'm finally free, he says that if I'm busy with schoolwork, I shouldn't go to Mai's sports day if it's still on for tomorrow. BUT! He then went on to add that because Mai worries about me studying too much, I should stop mentioning schoolwork in front of Mai. Because I am the most horrible person in the world, daring to explain to them why I'm "always in my room."

And then he starts cheerfully talking about the rainy season and how annoying it is ha ha ha ha!

... I still feel like I just got hit by a truck.
