First of all! I want to thank all of you who offered your birthday wishes. I don't deserve you guys. <3

I had a fantastic day yesterday. I got OTANJOUBI OMEDETOU'd by my family first thing in the morning, and then I got an e-mail from Sarah. She, Miranda, Melissa, Tanya, and Rachel each contributed some money that they gave to me specifically to spend on the big, shiny Imperial Guard art commission I've always wanted. *A* Still figuring out what I want to do with it!

Melissa also gave me a book of dirty Japanese slang, and the two of us went shopping together in Ikebukuro and Harajuku. I had a great time, bought a ton of adorable things, and met my family back at the house to go to dinner with another family nearby, also hosting a CIEE student. Her name is Erica, and she's incredibly nice and I like her a lot already.

But the party was crazy and amazing. The dinner was fantastic, I had a cake (lemon cream cake and fresh fruit <3), and we had lots of cocktails. Nomu-san enjoys mixing them enthusiastically with this exaggerated smile on his face, and he made us all do it that way. He even named one after me. "*In exaggerated English* ZIS COCKTAIRU IZU CALLED BEKKI." And they were incredibly impressed with my ability to down the drinks in one gulp ("YOUR WAY OF DRINKING IS AMAZING!") and my tolerance ("WAH, SO STRONG!")

After that, I mostly played games with the kids. Erica's little host brother, Yuutarou, is adorable and sweet and hilarious. He is kind of my BFF now and I want to adopt him. Anyway, I lost, like, 10,000 times at Uno because the kids kept hitting me with those +4 cards. D:

And then after I got home, Michiyo-san gave me a gorgeous new handbag. *A*

Today was pretty good too - I went to school for the first time, and got there without any trouble! I have a subway leg and a JR leg. Both stop in Shinjuku. During the morning rush. You guys, I have seen the underbelly of the beast. And it's a bit like crowd surfing.

I'm online right now, but of course, like, none of you are. XD I don't have a user ID at school yet, so I'm always very early or very late. So I guess I'll see you when I see you!
