I have to agree with you about Marimite. I cannot fathom an American adaptation. @3@ I have this nagging fear that they'd try to push the sexual tension angle too much, and that's not what the series is about. -3-;
Which reminds me, I've had the Season 4 DVD set for a couple months now and I still need to watch it. :P If only to make sure all the discs work.

True. The tension present is more romantic than sexual, unless Sei is involved. :P
It is sadly true to say though that if an American version was ever made, it would be more teen angst/sexual tension.
