Discarded Refuge : Naruto

Discarded Refuge

There is a reoccurring theme in the Naruto story of powerful clans being snuffed out after the third great ninja war because they were to powerful for peace time like Haku’s clan. But with them so powerful, how is it that they all died? The truth is they did not. Since it is so large and is both physically and often figuratively at the center of the conflicts, many from all the other nations fled into it’s borders for safety, ironic since this was for most an enemy nation.
It started small at first. Kemononoo (Beast King) from the land of Fang, was the first to arrive. Kemononoo’s clan develpoed the wild form technique, to make themselves more primitive and powerful it funtions much like sage mode in some aspects such as the animal aspects, increased speed, and strength but differs greatly because you do not need to stay still to power up. As he limped away from his homeland emotionally broken for being betrayed he fell upon a time forgotten settlement half rotted into the ground but with clean water near by and plenty of wildlife to sustain him for the time being so he rested. This ruin is towards the start of a river in Fire Country just South of the land of Waterfall, Fang, and Rice. This small river come from a main river that starts from the land of Waterfall and weaves through the land of Fang.

When he awoke later in the day, he was shocked to find that in the middle of this village of sticks there was a woman whom had collapsed. He picked her up and put her into the shelter he was just resting in and as he put her down he suddenly felt weak. His arms and hands were discolored only to realize that it must have been because he touched her. He used he abilities to push the poison into his nose and blew it out. The snot went from green to purple to brown as it melted into the ground.
Several hours later, as the sun began to set, the woman started to come to. Surprised to see a strange man by her side she starts to scream as he tried to calm her down and explain that she had nothing to be afraid of. This was little help and no comfort to the woman as she tried to space herself from him. Kemo took a fairly submissive posture to try to be non-threatening, “Please, I only wanted to help. I saw you on the ground so I put you in the... well what i think was a house at one time.”
The woman, now in the main street again, looked back and forth for an escape then look at him again with a cirious puzzled look on her face, “Wait, if you touched me then how are you still alive, let alone in good health?”
Kemo wondered what she meant then remembered, “Oh, you mean that poison. So that was you. I snot it out,” with a small smile if pride.
“What ew that is so gross,” as she starts to laugh. “What kind of jutsu is that?”
Seeing that she did not seem scared of her anymore, Kemo relaxed a little. “It is not really a jutsu per-say; I just used the body’s natural ability to remove unwanted elements to the naval cavity to be removed similar to drinking to much milk.”
She replied, “Well that is still gross.”
“Ya Ya. Well, if you have realized I am not going to hurt you, could you tell me your name?”
“Oh, um... it is Hachurui, Sukoshi Hachurui (little reptile). Nice to meet you.”
“Thank you. So what is the story of your skin if you don’t mind me asking?”
“Oh, ya,” she said with a solemn look on her face. “I come from the land of Rain. Like our leader Hanzo, I too has a poison sack implanted into my body. It was not as strong as the one that he received but it is still deadly and unlike his, the poison from mine seeps into my skin instead of my breath. Hanzo had been overthrown not to long ago and most of his associates and now dead. I would most likely be too except I was not know to most even if Hanzo did meet with me a few times but it felt like it was only a matter of time till my name came to the surface.”
“Hmm, that sounds horrible. You had to flee your home. Truth is, I also had to run since my village could no longer afford to have my clan’s existence.”
“What do you mean afford? Where is the rest of your clan?”
“As far as I know, dead. All dead. We are a war time clan. Our existence in these time of peace is no more than just posturing and a ever living threat to other nations and the peace we now uneasily hold. They do not want to go back to war so they kill us to show their devotion to not wanting to fight.”
“Oh, that is awful.” Suko goes towards him to comfort him forgetting about her power. As his skin once again starts to change color she remembers and springs back, “I am so sorry.”
With a sad smile on his face, Kemo says, “No it is okay. I do not mind at all. I can get rid of it like I did before and after awhile, it will not even effect me any more. So pleas,” with tears in his eyes, “do not be concerned with it.”
So she goes back to him as the sun sets and the bugs sang.
Over time they found more that were no longer fit for the times and invited them into their camp. Some stayed and other did not but after about two years there was a strong if not small community from three nations and eight lands.
