The month of November has been interesting. I got up on the first only to find that my computer wasn’t working right. Still I managed to coax it into semi cooperating and got stuff done around the site. It was hard though since everything was so slow, I didn’t realize that it was my computer and not the site.
The next day, Sunday, it wouldn’t start at all. Dead. It wouldn’t have been so bad if I didn’t use my computer for school all the time. I took it in on Monday to be repaired and hoped that at the very least, I wouldn’t lose all of my files and information.
It turned out that the motherboard was faulty and needed to be replaced. o_O I lucked out in that it was a recall so I didn’t have to pay for the part. A notice was sent out earlier this year about the faulty part, but it went to my parent’s house instead of the apartment I’m living in while I attend school, so I never saw it.
So I got my computer back last Thursday, just in time to get my notes for two big tests on Friday and to get all my files for a group presentation I had to do this Monday. Not being able to get that would have been an utter disaster. Everything our group had done was on my hard drive. We could have started over, but there wasn’t enough time.
The others had it too, but I had the completed version since I was putting the final touches on some of it. We had started attempting to re-put things together during the week so it was a great relief to get my computer back and get the files we needed the most.
I still spent most of Saturday and Sunday evening with the group working on that so we’d be ready for the presentation. It’s a business communications class and these group presentations are a huge percentage of our grade so to mess one up, would pretty much ruin your grade for that class.
So between the computer issue and then tests and that presentation, I wasn’t able to get to the category updates. But now that my biggest assignments and tests before thanksgiving are done with, I should have no trouble getting that done this weekend. I’ve already started on the lists and requests that were sent. ^_^
Now I just hope my computer doesn’t do that again. XP That was so not fun.
