communcation is magical

so today i'm not teaching. i have 2 jobs. one is obviously the sub traching. for the other job, i work at a military base at lodging (hotel for military basically). i work the frost desk, asnwering the phone, checking people in/out. i'm a secretary/front desk clerk person. but this morning, i got a call from a capt. that stays with us frequently, asking me to let my manager know that instead of being picked up at the airport at 10:30, she needed to be picked up at 1:30. i thought this was odd, cause why would my manager be picking her up? she must be important. usually it's us front desk people that run errands, as long as there is two of us at the desk. so i let manager know. then chrissy (co-worker) was like, manager isn't getting her, you are. i was confused. since when was i volunteered to drive to the airport? chrissy said linda decided, but guess what? NO ONE TOLD ME! so i's a good thing the capt called, otherwise i never would have known and no one would have been there to pick her up. it's so frustrating. it seems like communication is a lost art here at lodging. this incident is one of MANY i've had to deal with.

it's been steady busy otherwise. there's a huge navy training group coming in tonight, so i've been doing a lot of prep work to make things easier for swing shift. my poor mom works swings, and i think she's going to be stuck alone most of the night with this huge group coming in. Z is supposed to work tonight too, but says she'll be an hour late, then wants to leave really early. so basically my mom will be alone. poor mommy.

after work i have to shop for groceries, then i have to exercise. i kind of want to do my new dance video, but i'm probably just going to run a few miles on the treadmill instead. then crochet. i've been lazy this week so i'm behind on my weekly crochet quota.
