The Power of Mint

HELLOs. MintIceCream here(MIC for short) tis a world about me, and the crazy antics of my 5 cats that just love to drive me nuts.

i recently graduated from college with a BS degree in education, certified for art (I'm an art teacher). i currently sub teach while i shop for a job in my content area.

Mindy-my cat, she's a white cat with tabby splotches all over. She's 15 years old, nonsocial, phychotic, and crazy. But i love her all the same.

Texa-my dad's cat primarily, he has a tuxedo style coat. black with a white strip down his belly, on his paws, and the lower half of his face. he's also a manx(no tail) and very talkative. a gentle giant, very lovable, although he doesn't really like me to well. he's 11 years old. (he's also kind of a cranky old @$$)

Bogart-mom's cat. and mine sometimes. the very fat one of our family. he's 7 year old. a brown tabby who loves to raise chaos. he loves to terrorize the adults, and chew on everything. he's also a big pig and will eat anything. even though he's my mom's cat, he loves everyone. he's quite the ladies man. he prefers the company of women over men.

Sammie-Ryan's cat. 7 year old. he is all gray, with thick soft fur. the sweetest cat in the whole world. he isn't all that smart though, and kinda slow. definatley not our brightest bulb, but we love him all the same. he will do anything for a tidbit of human food, so i have managed to teach him a few tricks. his favorite food is gold fish. we try to tell him it's not a real fish, but he doesn't believe us.

Augustus (GUS for short)- everyone's cat. the newest addition to our family, we rescued him from a cousin who should be banned from owning animals. he was 5 weeks old when we got him, so tiny. he's now 3 years old. he is a miniture norwegian forrest cat. all black, orange eyes, and EXTREMLY fluffy. he is the baby of the family, and res1sident ninja/trouble-maker. he is also quite dog like. he will sit and shake paws for a treat, likes to play fetch, loves meeting new people, and go for walks on a leash and harness.

poor lost button, has no home

i did the water aerobics class with my mom this morning. do you know those little boards (which are blue most of the time but are also red) that you hold in front of you when you swim, the floaty boards? they can be used as torture devices. she made us keep them underwater the whole time. pushing them down and forward. she said her goal for this morning was to make one of our arms fall off.

work was slow, but good. i'm working on another book, called 'here kitty kitty'. it's a horror book. it's about this little town by a lake, and there's an island on the lake. the main character's dad (who is dead, killed and eaten by an unkown animal) actually had built a mation that opened portals to the ice age time. and animals, such a dire wolves, sabertooth tigers, and mamoths have started coming through. the people can't see these doors, just the animals. most of the story is told from the perspective of the main human's cat billie. the wolves and sabertoothes have started killing the townspeople. it's a really good book.

i found a button today. the por lost button. from where it was found, it definatly belongs to one of the baggers. i asked around some today but was unable to find who it belonged to. i'm going to take it back to work with me tomorrow, i'm determined to find it's home.

this song is absolutly beautiful. and it freaks my cat out for some reason when i play it, which is hilarious to see her reation.

it's so cold!!!

today was extremly slow at work today. thankfully i brought a book with me. 'arthur and the invisibles'. i even managed to finish it too. but it was freezing at work today. i had a coat on and zipped up, and i was still shivering. i swear they keep that place at 60 degrees. that is exactly why i have a cough and cold year round. because i'm in the cold, then out in the hot with a customer, back inside then out, hot cold hot cold. ack.

other than that today is boring. mom ordered pizza for dinner. but that's about as exciting as my evening gets.

relaxing 4th

went to the gym this morning for the first time in 2 weeks. now that i'm finally not sick anymore. well, i still have my cough, but i have a cough year round, so that doesn't count. it felt good to workout.

this morning i had to clean mindy's disgusting kennel. i pulled her litterbox out of it to scoop it this morning and some of the litter spilled on her bed. so i just decided to drag it outside and completly clean. i swear that cat misses her box 75% of the time. there's always a puddle of pee under her box and a pile of turds beside it. yuck!>:P but now it's clean, put back together, and her bed is in the washer.

i've spent the day crocheting and watching funny videos of criminal minds bloopers on youtube. i must say, thomas gibson(the guy who plays hotch) has an awsome laugh. and it's sad that we never get to hear it during the show cause he's always mr. serious. he's really funny too.

mom made cream cheese cheesecake! she only ever makes it on the 4th, and it's super yummy. we're going to eat outside while we light our fireworks off. i hope all of you guys are haveing a fun 4th too!!

my dad is broken

my mom broke my dad yesterday. she made him go on such a long walk his right lower leg was extremly sore and he was walking stiff legged. mom and ryan were teasing him calling him gimpy. poor dad.

today was a lazy day though. i managed to get mom to go to church with me, and i only had 5 kids in my class today. came home and vacuumed the house. went and got my glasses adjusted, took ryan to gamestop so he could buy a new game. i did go on a walk with mom though, and i still have to clean the bathroom. i have to scrub the sink and the tub. it's better than having to scrub the toilet, ryan always has to do that. yuck.

i'm going through withdrawels!o.O

i miss my kindergarteners!!!! i got so used to seeing them everyday and playing with them, and now i'm only going to get to see them once a week. on sundays for the class i teach.

we did go to the old market though today. but i forgot my phone so i was stuck with ryan all day. we managed to get along though. we spent basically the entire morning, several hours, wandering through antique stores. i got a tin coke glass and a glass cup shaped like a coke can. i got 2 cat magnets, and a caramel apple pecan pie. i havn't tried my pie yet though, i'm trying to be strong and save it for tomorrow. i wanted a strawberry pie but the stand was out of them.

we had lunch at a diner, then headed to the bridge that connects iowa and nebraska and walked over it. the river is so flooded, it's amazing! and scary. that water was high and moving super fast.

lastly we got our fireworks. mom and dad bought a ton, i bought just 4. i can't wait. the 4th is the only time mom makes cream cheese cheesecake. it's super yummy! but i just realized, the 4th is also bogart's bday!!! our baby is going to be 3 this year.

i napped when we got home, then went to visit ashley. we mostly watched videos and looked at pics till her internet died, then watched the aristcats. but i did make a pokemon card. want to make your own? click HERE
