Making Better OCs

Next we have the miscellaneous battle skills. For Naruto, this means jutsu, while in Bleach, it might mean bankai.

Okuri technically possesses no form of jutsu, but as a jiinchuriki, he is very much like the Big Bad Wolf in that he blows down houses. He also spits wind blades and wind wolves. The most impressive of his abilities is Wind Walking, which allows him to merge with the air around him for a series of very quick movement and/or walk on air. At its full power, he literally becomes the wind, and can whip up storms and tornadoes.

Yua has limited knowledge of the Wind Walking ability, and she only uses it in a single burst, only as her last resort. Normally, she will summon some sort of flying creature or rely on her genjutsu/taijutsu combinations.

As for the OC in progress, I think I shall give her some Earth-based jutsus, mostly defensive. Although she could never whip up a defense as good as, say, Gaara’s, she could certainly raise a few stone walls if she had to.

Next, we move onto the history of the character/relationship with other characters/motivation and goals. It should be noted that this is where most people mess it up and great an Uber-Sue. It is important that you do everything you possibly can to leave cannon undisturbed. This means if your character met a main character, it must be an insignificant event, or it must be an event explaining why something is the way it is. On the next page, an explanation is provided for why we always see Kiba’s mother, but never his father.
