BRIEF BACKSTORY
Originally a random child from the West Side of Titanomachia,he was taken away from his older sister and abducted by the Third Eye pharmacy.He was created as an artifical Cursebug,who'd have the ability to possess people and steal their abilities.He was sent against the EXE in an attempt to "consume" HYDE for his creator...
PERSONALITY
Ethereal,being a child at his purest form, is rather innocent and on the quiet side,in stark contrast with the man who he possessed,HYDE.He is also very curious and kind of impressionable,so even though he likes to stay in "the shadows",he is always rather interested in others' interactions.He is very polite,but doesn't really have too high an opinion of himself
BATTLE STATS
Ethereal fights by using his shapeshifting body,as he was made a living parasitic shadow.Very unsure of his own battle capabilities, he prefers assisting HYDE by using his shadow power to attack along with HYDE or "fuse" with the latter's weapons.
When he does fight on his own,he proves to be rather talented (if not an innate fighter),spontaneously creating effective techniques and analyzing his foes carefully by "reading" their shadow.He even ocasionally impressed HYDE and Manticore.
Despite all this,however,his skills at combat are rather unpolished; This,along with his over-reliance on HYDE limits his fighting potential until HYDE's death where he decides to train his individual power

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
His failure at possessing HYDE,while unintentional, ended granting him a freedom he had never experienced. With his memories of his life before his rebirth completely gone, he becomes interested in creating new memories. He grows very envious of HYDE and the orphans at EXE,to the point of self-loathing; this prompts a lifelong desire to become a "true" human being.He isn't sure what that means himself,but has faith that observing HYDE and the others will bring him answers.
As the series goes on,he comes to develop a rather unhealthy emotional dependence of HYDE and considers almost everything he says as gospel.
HYDE's death completely destroys him and results in many years of angry and vengeful bitterness
NOTABLE RELATIONSHIPS
+ At first very curious and puzzled by HYDE's "humanity" ; he quickly comes to greatly respect HYDE,bordering on single-minded worship; He is often content with simply obeying HYDE and carrying on his will.To Ethereal, HYDE is a "true human being" and has referred to the latter as "my everything" many times throughout the series.
+Ethereal is very affectionate of Maryanne as well. At first,it was mostly by extension of her being HYDE's girlfriend,but he greatly appreciated whenever she would come to talk to him.She makes a promise to her to help them raise their family.
-He doesn't get along very well with the other orphans of EXE. While they're not quite on bad terms,the other children have a hard time relating to a parasitic shadow and vice-versa.Ethereal still protects them out of loyalty to the EXE.
-Upon meeting the man for the first time after becoming free,Ethereal grows to greatly despise Vodka Violet,for daring to create him so "incomplete" and also for hurting HYDE.Vodka is in fact the first person Ethereal has ever wanted to kill
