Right. So.
I finally have electricity back on at my house after five days of nothingness. I realize that's nothing compared to those that are without power for weeks (or even months) at a time after a hurricane or some other natural disaster, but I must admit, it is rather difficult to be without power for any given length of time, especially when you don't know when that power is going to return.
Funny story about that, too. Apparently, we were supposed to have power the day after it got knocked out, since the city electricians were in the area making repairs. Why didn't we? It seems that our landlady never called in the fact that we were out of power to the electric company and then proceeded to go on vacation.
Needless to say, many people who lost all their food (and have many children) were very upset to find that out.
But things are all A-Okay now. So yay for that.
In other news...
All right. For those of you that have jumped on this whole crazy "Twilight" bandwagon, I've never read any of the books.
*waits for gasps to stop*
Right. But! I have recently acquired a copy of the first book to read for myself.
Will it be as good as everyone is raving? I have no idea. I'm really just wanting to see why everyone's gone so freaking crazy over this stuff. I personally have my own ideas of how the occult world works; I've been helping a friend of mine with her own occult line for more than a few months now (before we even knew of this "Twilight"). So, I have a strong feeling that's it's not going to mesh with what I imagine it to be. However, said friend has read the first book and said it wasn't that bad. Will I have the same thoughts? I have no idea. But I'll give it a shot. I'll tell you how it works out.
