So.

I just got done reading Adam's latest post about the whole NYAF contest thing and whatnot. Honestly, I'm surprised at what a lot of people said.

I mean, we've always tried to be fair with contests. Adam goes out of his way to do a lot of things for the site to make things interesting and fun for the members, which does seem to be appreciated by some, but others still seem to be able to find something to complain about.

My question is this: Why? I mean, like Adam said, he's made everything fair about the contest that he's hosting for ANOTHER PARTY. It's ultimately their decision about how the winner of the contest is determined. And so what if some of those that were chosen as finalists aren't well-known members of the community here? This is an open contest for all artists/anime fans to compete in. It shouldn't matter who got picked. They just happened to be the top picks out of what I imagine to be a veritable ton of wonderful entries. I say good for them. Congrats.

I suppose the main point I'm trying to make here is: If there's really nothing wrong, DON'T WHINE ABOUT IT. I realize that you can't please everyone, but honestly, this is a little ridiculous. Instead of complaining about a problem that isn't there, I think a hearty congrats and a wish of luck to the finalists should serve much better.

But that's just me.
