How to Write a News Nugget

The Do's and Don'ts of Submitting

You would be surprised at some of the things I've seen while handling the news. Most people seem to get the idea of what we're going for as far as news submissions, but there is the occasional oddball. Here are a list of do's and don'ts for submitting news to the site:

DO make sure your link to the article and fanart (if you find one) actually works.

DO make sure the above mentioned link does not go through four different articles before you actually get to the one that's mentioned in the News Nugget.

DO proofread your article before you submit it. We fix some errors but if your Nugget is full of them, it will be scrapped.

DO make sure that the news you submit is site relevant. Anime-related, video game-related, manga/graphic novel-related, Japan-related and otaku/weird news is what we strongly go for. Other things are considered on a case-by-case basis.

DO make sure your news is current and accurate (we help out a lot on that one, though).

DON'T try to submit personal news to the site. Things with your club or things having to do with you personally will not be accepted.

DON'T just supply a link with no description attached to it. It'll be auto-scrapped.

DON'T use foul language in a News Nugget. It'll be auto-scrapped and you may find yourself in trouble. ;)
