Do you know that feeling you get when you really want to talk to someone specific about something funny that only they would get? I'm going through that right now. Pity me. --;
Anyway, things have been going relatively well around here. I found out that my bank is slightly retarded and very cut-corner around national holidays which is something to be wary of in the future (needless to say, I was freaking out all weekend as a result of their error).
The "Up Yours, England" holiday weekend (collectively known to most Americans as the 4th of July weekend) was nice, if only because of the fact that it was a three-day weekend. (It was SO nice to sleep in until noon after a week of getting up at 5:45 a.m. Being a parking attendant definitely has advantages and disadvantages.) And I managed to pick up a copy of The King of Fighters 2006, which I've been looking for for quite some time now, so I'm happy on the video game front.
Other than that, there hasn't been anything too eventful, though if you ever get the chance, I would suggest picking up Hippo Eats Dwarf: A Field Guide to Hoaxes and Other B.S. Any book that can actually work in a potshot at Duke Nukem Forever and still maintain an air of professional informationalism (which I don't think is even a word, but I'm an English major, so I have a right to make up words as I see fit, or so it seems, looking at dictionaries nowadays) is okay in my book. I've actually learned some very interesting things as a result.
Anyway, that's about all I got.
...So, how're you lot doing?
I'll have been a Moderator for six years at OtakuBoards on the 11th of this month.
...What the hell is wrong with me. lol
No, but seriously, I can't believe it's been that long... Sheesh. Never thought I'd be able to stick around as long as I have. Been through some awesome history, I can tell you that. Here's to as many more as James and the rest'll have me for.
So.
I have come to the conclusion (through much research) that if you are any sort of manga or anime fan, you have to read at least one volume of Yakitate! Japan. It doesn't matter which one (even if you're in the middle of a story arc). The amazing dialogue, the hilarious characters (all of which you either love or love to hate), the nice artwork; there's really nothing bad about this manga. And it's about bread. 95% of people love bread in some capacity. Even better, it actually makes bread interesting (and even gives recipes in later chapters!). You can't go wrong with it.
Not only that, but the main character wears a girly headband and actually pulls it off. That's a feat in itself.
So, yes. Go read Yakitate! Japan. Seriously.
(Also, did anyone else watch Wipeout! and I Survived a Japanese Game Show last week? HILARITY.)
(Oh. And I did get that job. I had my first day today. I only screwed up once. Go me!)
(... I have now determined that if the following came to pass, I would be able to die happy.

I know it would never happen, but wouldn't it be amazing if it did?!)
Do you have any idea what it's like to be caught in a sudden torrential downpour?
I DO.
What is the prurpose of the umbrella when it does nothing?!
So.
I've been playing Tales of the Abyss... Is it bad if you constantly want to kick the crap out of the main character? Admittedly, I'm at a point in the stroy that he's starting to get better, but Jesus... If I were any member of the party, I would have punched him in the face from jump. No lie.
Anyway, even though it's an older game nowdays, I'm considering doing a write-up for it for My Two Pixels. I think it would be interesting.
Anyway, I haven't got much to report, but I'm hoping I hear word about my potential job soon. Going stir-crazy much.
