Yes, I finally went and saw The Dark Knight.
Five weeks after everyone else.
And it was still amazing.
(As a side note, it really sucks losing your job three days before your birthday.)
So.
It seems that people are quite pleased that the OA has made its return. There haven't been many comments made on the most recent post, but there have been a good number of hits to the World itself, so that's a good sign. No entries for the contest, though, so it looks like the World will be bare for the time being. There's still time until Saturday I realize, but I'm thinking it would be better to plug the hell out of it for the rest of September for next month. Maybe by then I can find more incentive for people to give it a go.
Anyway, in real life, there hasn't been all the much going on. I still haven't gotten any word back about the whole apartment deal (though no news is good news or so they say), but I have been buying things here and there for the place. It's slowly coming together. Right now, I'm looking for things to hang on walls (because I absolutely hate bare walls. HATE THEM.). So far, I've got some very tasteful sumi-e artwork reproductions and some other Oriental things (because I'm an Orientalphile like that). I've been looking on deviantART as well and have come across some nice things, so that a plus. Do any of you know any good online stores for this sort of thing? Any help would be appreciated. :3
Also, I managed to pick up the new release of The Nightmare Before Christmas. I've never seen it (I know, shock, horror, but that's not the worst of it: One day, I'll post all the movies I haven't seen that I should have and let you all chide me into eternity), so I'm looking forward to watching it eventually. What's strange, though, is that even though I've never seen it, I know half the songs from the movie by heart.
I know. It's so wrong.
But I'll watch it and set things to rights. Hopefully.
(Also, have played more Tales of the Abyss. S-Skits are made of hilarity. And I'm starting to hate Luke less. Hurrah.)
Yes, I do realize that I have horribly neglected this place for the past few weeks. I apologize, but I'm sure you all will be happy in the long run that I spared you the pain of tales of my glorious adventures in parking lot watching. --;
Anyway, a few things have happened recently.
1) Picked up KOF Maximum Impact, Gungrave and Samurai Legend Musashi for a total of $20. Epic gaming thriftiness is epic.
2) I have officially joined the cool kids and acquired a DS. Whoo.
3) I have also acquired Pokémon Pearl. When Platinum will probably come out in about seven months (it drops in Japan on my birthday; Pokéholics everywhere are hoping the turnaround time on translation goes back down to how it was for the 3rd Gen games). In other words, yes, I am that lame.
4) I also picked up Guilty Gear Dust Strikers. Biggest waste of $15 EVER. And that's coming from a hardcore GG fan. :/
5) I've started writing stories again. I don't know if they'd be interesting to you all, but if I get to a point where I think they wouldn't cause anyone to want to shoot themselves, I may post them here. Who knows.
6) I'm looking for my own place now. If I'm lucky, I should have one in about 2-3 months. :3
So, yeah, that about sums up everything since the last time I posted here. How are you all doing?
(Oh, by the way, this is between you, me and the fence post, but I may be making a new World soon that may please the masses...)
