Art! and Racism?

What's been going on: I'M ON SPRING BREAK AND HAVEN'T BEEN HOME LONG ENOUGH TO POST UNTIL NOW. [smile!]

My father is dating this woman who for once I actually like. She's into drawing and she draws some psycho crazy eye-orgasmic abstracty colorful black and white pictures. AND AND AND! She was telling me all these crazy things she did as a kid.tween.teen. and gee willikers is she nifty.

She said she grew up in sunshiny Cali. and raised all the hell she could protesting and what not in high school. She protested for animal rights mainly because apparently to have "real fur" was all the rage. [Which makes no sense in sunshiny Cali] Then she said she worked at a tattoo shop by the beach and would give all her friends free tatts. Then she went to college and got her degree in computer animation and special effects and that she worked on movies like Toy Story and stuff. [SWEET! Fave movie of all time]

Then in 1992 here in Cali there were riots and people went crazy. She told me it all happened because this black guy named Rodney King was "speeding"[notice the quotes] and these white officers pulled him over and just beat him with those black stick thingies they have. I was like "OH EM GEE! WHAT THE FUCK?!" And it got on the news and people went crazy and started rioting on the streets and breaking store windows and looting stuff. She said she got in a van with her friends and they drove to a music store and they looted like 4 or 5 guitars and her nerdy but ran and looted a laptop which is crap now [her exact words] National Guard was everywhere. People were screaming and yelling. People got arrested. People were just taking advantage of the situation.

I was in Canada at the time so I MISSED OUT! and so did Papa. Anywho. She's quite the character and I hope she sticks around :P Here's a song by Sublime which she showed me [go figure] about the riots.
