Chapter 2: First Meeting

“Yelena, I demand to know why you are in here!” He clutched onto her wrist so tightly it pulled her off the ground.

“Daddy, stop, you are hurting me.” She cried. “I and the prince were just exploring and we found this man! Please put me down, please!”

She mentioned me? I suddenly began to shake and wished I would have stayed hidden underneath the medicine table. I wanted my Papa but he wasn’t around. I could feel The King staring down upon me. I started to cry holding the bottom of my coat tightly together.

“You led my daughter here?” He asked me sternly with such hatred clogged underneath his throat.

I gulped and looked to the side ashamed, “It wasn’t my fault, I was, I was just trying to get her back and she kept running away from me! I swear I was the one who tried to stop her and she, well she just got away and I followed her here to get her back and…” I couldn’t think of what else to say. I obviously sounded as though I was lying. I thought he was going to smack me one even though I wasn’t his own son. The tension could but cut with a silver blade.

“Daddy it’s true!” Yelena exclaimed before anything bad happened. “I was the one who wanted to come here and stay here. This man is hurt really bad and I wanted to help him, keep him company until someone came. I am sorry for disobeying you but…I don’t know.”

“You know you aren’t allowed to be here, Yelena.” He said a little calmer. “What if you got hurt? Then what would I have done?” He gave her a big hug. Everything was at peace until Kapranova started laughing hysterically in the background. He started out silently chuckling but became louder and louder. I and Yelena were both frightened by this behavior. I didn’t understand I didn’t know what was so funny.

The brave king stepped towards to laughing soldier’s bed. He must have thought the man crazy. He would be laughing and then choke but again laugh.

“What is so funny soldier?” The king asked looking down at him laying there.

“I…I am just so…so…” He started laughing again and again.

“Daddy, make him stop laughing!” Yelena screamed.

King Rolloy got a white clothe and poured some medicines in it and placed it over the laughing man’s face. He began screaming from the burn the fluid left from touching his open cuts. The King held him down tightly as he strangled and moved around. Yelena came closer to me clutching onto my arm and whispered a small prayer.

Lord, please save this man from suffering, do not let him die. The day is young and the heart is bold, please let go of the all the hatred. Set free the burden of pain. Set free the burden of life. Lay the doves r upon his shoulders and the light be filled inside his heart. Show him the relaxing end of pain.
