Hello and welcome to Keba's Anime and Manga Place (KAAMP for short)! Here at KAAMP, I write about anime and manga that I have seen/read as well as my views on them. I'll also post about my original stories from time to time.

Just beware that some of my posts contain spoilers. I'll put them in spoiler tags just in case.

KAAMP's history: KAAMP was created in July 2002 by yours truly. It was a sloppy-looking website on Yahoo's now defunct Geocities. I posted my anime fan art on that site. Also, for a time, I posted my thoughts on the few anime series that I had seen. Now that I look back on it, my thoughts were rather ill-informed (is that even a word?) because I had only seen bits and pieces of anime dubs. Now that I've seen more series, I think that my commentary on various anime will be a little better than before.

So, come on in and stay awhile! KAAMP is now in session.

How to Get Someone into FMA as Strangely as Possible

This silly post is inspired by a friend of mine.

On New Year's Eve, we were hanging around my apartment talking about our various interests and watching stupid YouTube videos. Somehow, the topic of anime came up, despite the fact that my friend isn't an anime fan.

I had been waiting for the moment when I could tell her about the Fullmetal Alchemist manga. I had rehearsed in my head how I'd pitch it to her. Here's what I said to her about FMA: It's about a double amputee and a suit of armor. They're brothers! Then I went on about how they use alchemy and battle the seven deadly sins personified.

Believe it or not, she was intrigued.

I wrote the manga's name down for her and she checked some volumes out of the library. Unfortunately, she hasn't gotten to far due to her hectic life. I hope she likes the series and that I didn't oversell it. If she does like it, then I can show her all the stupid FMA YouTube videos I found.

Been Meaning to Share This for Some Time

I'm sure that a lot of you Naruto Shippuden fans have heard about the latest video game based on the series. Although this is kind of old news, the game features bonus costumes for some characters. I now present to you "Dragonball Naruto".

I've been meaning to post this for months but kept on forgetting. I'm not really a Dragonball Z fan; I found the show very tiresome to watch. So why did I share this crossover? Because I totally called it back in 2009!

Manga Studio 5

While browsing DeviantART, I came across a post that the newest version of the drawing software Manga Studio, has been released. I checked the official website, and sure enough, Manga Studio 5 is available for purchase. Upon further research, I learned that the full (EX) version is not yet available, but it will be this summer.

Personally, I hope they allow upgrades from version 3, not just version 4. If they don't allow me to skip to the current version, I will be miffed. I'm still trying to get a handle on EX 3, so that's why I never upgraded.

Goals for the New Year

I thought that since it's the end of 2012, I might as well list some goals for 2013. I'll mostly concentrate on artistic persutes and things that pertain to theO.

1. Draw more. I want to get in at least one picture per month. That way, I can do an end-of-the-year art meme. I think this goal is going to have a lot of sub-goals.

1-A. Draw fan art from series that I've never drawn from before. Self explanatory.

1-B. Practice drawing my characters. They need some development.

1-C. Enter more Challenges. This year, there weren't a lot of Challenges that I was interested in. Heck, there weren't a lot of Challenges, period.

2. Start my web comic. It's going to be about me and my OCs. There will be much craziness. This goal can be broken down further.

2-A. Learn to use my tablet. I want this comic to be as computer-centered as possible.

2-B. Learn to use Manga Studio. I've had it for quite some time, but never figured it out. And when I mean "quite some time", I mean the version I have is no longer current.

3. Crack the Fan Art Top 25. Yeah, like that'll happen.

4. Buy a scanner. I don't want to have to go to my parents' to scan anymore. It's a waste of gas to drive just for that purpose. I'll have to do a lot of shopping. Large scanners are expensive.

5. Write more. Poor "Rebels" is neglected. "Survival Instincts" needs an update. I have to figure out what else to add to my library as well.

6. Make a wallpaper. I know the Wallpaper section is kind of dead. But I want to try my hand at one anyway.

7. Do my voice meme. It's still open. Ask me anything, so long as it's appropriate.

8. Start a Challenge. I have SO many ideas. I just can't think of any of them when I get on theO.

Wow. That's a lotta goals. And that's only for art. I have some guitar goals, but I don't want to list those 'cause this is a VISUAL art site. Then again, I do have some ideas about incorporating my music with theO... but that's for a later date.

So, since this is "Comment Day", what are some of your personal goals for the year?

Any AMV Makers Out There?

As the title says, who here makes AMVs? Link some to me. I want to see them.

Now for some questions. How hard is it to make an AMV? How time-consuming is it? What do you use to do it? What makes you match up certain songs to certain anime? Where do you post them (aside from YouTube)?

I'm really curious. I wasn't that into AMVs because the vast majority aren't that well-made. But lately I've been listening to this one song and I think it would go really well with an anime. I almost want to make an AMV myself.
