The screen goes dark and I look around. Then I start walking down the path, but as a precaution make a black line in the ground with fire, so that I can know where I've been already. I reach the first turn after a bit. I look down it, then continue down the same one I've been following. I walk for another few yards and turn a few times, get lost, find several dead ends, and backtrack almost constantly. I hate mazes, in case I never told you. But then I reach a set of stairs. I go down them, and see a large door with the fancy L etched into it. A small pit is in front of the door. Just to try, I walk to the door and try pulling it open, but nothing happens. Then I notice four sets of stairs, all leading up out of the room. I mark the stairs I came in through, then go up a set of stairs. I silently pray that there's not another maze at the top, but instead find a small room with a piece of paper taped to the wall. I pull it off the wall and look at it. There's not a picture or anything, there's a small story type of thing.

LIKENESSES OF PEOPLE TO ANIMALS ARE INEVITABLE, UNLESS HUMANS BECOME HUMAN. IN THAT CASE, HUMANS WILL NO LONGER ACT OR BE TREATED AS ANIMALS. SOME BELIEVE THAT TO ACCOMPLISH THIS, HUMANS MUST DIE. NEVER HOWEVER, WILL I BELIEVE THIS. EVERY HUMAN CAN EASILY BECOME HUMAN ON THEIR OWN WITHOUT THE THREAT OF DEATH. ALTHOUGH BECAUSE I BELIEVE THIS, I KNOW I WILL BE DISAGREED WITH BY CERTAIN PEOPLE. RESPECTFULLY THEN, I ASK YOU WHAT YOU BELIEVE ON THIS MATTER?

I stare at the note. Only one word comes to mindwhat?. I have no clue what to say in response to that. But, now that I think about it, this question is more of a philosophical question, whereas the test is about mental capacity. Then it must be a code. I think of the codes I know, but none work. Then I notice something. The first letter of the message is L, just like my friend at the end of the maze. Then there's an I, then S. I look at the first letters of the sentences, and find the message "L IS NEAR". I guess that he is close, just behind a door. I go back down the steps, and I hear L's voice.
"Write your answer on the page and slip it under the door."
I pull out a pen that I always keep on me and write "That L is near".
I slip it under the door. Then I hear something behind me, and turn around. The pit behind me has something coming out of it. A platform comes out of the pit, and there's a statue of some kind of monster on it. I stare at it for a second, then move on to the next staircase. This time, there's just a Rubik's cube sitting in the middle of the floor. Next to it, there's a note.

PEEL OFF THE STICKERS AND YOU FAIL

I grimace and look at the cube. Then I set to work on it. I remember hearing somewhere that there's a trick to solving these things. I just don't know it. I work at it for what feels like forever, and I wish I could be back fighting monsters. Then I get an idea. I grab the sides of the Rubik's cube and pull as hard as I can. The cube falls apart, and I look at all the parts on the ground. With a sigh, I put the colors of each side in order and melt the plastic just enough to make them stick together. I pick up the "completed" Rubik's cube and go to L's door.
"What do I do with this?" I ask the door.
"You broke it you moron."
"Never said I couldn't. You only said I couldn't peel off the stickers to solve it. I never removed a single sticker."
I hear a sigh on the other side of the door, and the I hear a noise from the pit. I turn around and see a scythe coming out of the ground into the monster's left hand. I turn back to the door, and a new Rubik's cube slides out from under the door, along with a note saying

DO NOT TAKE APART THE RUBIK'S CUBE
