chapter one

staring in the mirror was a stranger, someone i had never seen in my life, butit was me.i was always the odd girl, i had dark hair,black as the midnight air,i was the only one in my family with it,my pale white skin was nearly transparent, and my light blue gray eyes gleaming like the moon, today was the first day i actually wanted to look pretty for the world, it was my 18th birthday and i wanted people to look at me,as i knew they would,its not like i wanted all the attention and drama that everyone else wanted i just wanted a few simple compliments and a happy birthday i carefully applied my make dark and perfect as a painter with a brush, i was creating a master piece on my face making sure with every stroke it it created a picture, i slipped on my shoes with delicacy and picked up my large binder carrying it into the living room i dropped it everywhere as my papers chased threw the air landing like planes on the floor, i followed a few into my parents bedroom were my dad should have been sleeping and my mom still working, but what i had found was like watching a horror movie something completely wrong, it made my stomach tie in knots and create a lump in my throat just small enough for me to make a small scream,there laid my father entangled with another female,both naked and sweaty,spilling sounds threw out threw room i looked at both in disgust, then slammed the door and ran out of the house with my head spinning.my feet lightly touch the floor while my legs swam threw the air like propellers,then out of no were i slammed to the ground i begain to violently shake, it took a moment to register that i had no idea where i was,it was dark and the sky was made up of leaves and branches,looking back i noticed my foot was caught in tangled tree roots.a rock was lodged into my knee,which was bleeding everywhere, the floor beneath me was made dead leaves,broken twigs, packed dirt,green plants were surrounding me. just then i heard something behind me move and i began kicking my feet in terror trying to get away, but i was having no luck at all,and the sound kept getting closer
