First amv ever! and other random crap...
So...
I made my first amv a couple of weeks ago. Yep. All by myself. Took 2 days and it's pretty crappy but I was told it's not bad for a first try? I don't know. You guys can be the judge:

Other than that I haven't been doing anything productive art wise. I entered a few contests on here but nothing else. I need to start working on the Calendar for next year.
On the other side to that, I have finished work on my collaboration book with gokusangel20. For those that are reading this (why are you reading this? are you really that bored??) I wrote a book featuring Durarara!! (Shizaya), Sengoku Basara and a lot of original characters. It's actually pretty good. I'm in the final stages of editing. I hope to get it mini-published this year. Probably won't sell any but it's a fan fiction so at the very least I'll have a nice copy for myself.

It's been nearly 4 months since the start of the new year hasn't it? I feel completely useless! I haven't done nearly as much as I have wanted due to time restrictions. I am still writing a fan-fiction for reasons I do not understand myself. It's a shame that something like this that is taking up so much of my time will never be able to become published based on the fact that it involves characters I did not create. It's getting a lot more complicated than I thought it would be too. After finishing the base of the story in January I went back to edit only to find out that there about about 2 more large portions that need to be written and added into it. Such a chore! Based on all the work I've done it's probably about halfway finished with the second draft. I will have to edit it a couple more times before I decided it's officially finished.
For anyone that does read this I have written a Durarara!! fan fiction based on Izaya and Shizuo. It also has Shinra, Celty, Mikado, Psyche, and Tsugaru in it. Then it includes some new characters as well. I tried to follow the original example of the anime and so the story is done in viewpoints. Starts with Shizuo and ends with Mikado, wrapping all together to compile this huge story... But it's not just Durarara!! it also has characters from Sengoku Basara and Final Fantasy in it. Yeah, wrap your mind around that - but I think I did it well enough that is flows without compromising anything. Again, I don't know why I am spending so much time on it; as I said earlier I won't be able to publish it. So sad...
In other news, art wise, I entered 2 contests. Received 3rd place in one, the other is still pending. I enjoy the challenges on the Otaku. I have been browsing them lately but nothing seems to catch my attention. If anyone has a challenge going that things I might like, let me know. I might try it if I have time. Also, thanks to everyone that enjoyed my Eyeshield comic. I haven't written anything with Eyeshield in such a long time. I should get back to that, neh?
And finally - calendar 2013! Yes, seems like a while away but it's only a couple months. This years theme has been decided as Kitarro and Garrick do cosplay. Now to come up with 12 animes to have them cosplay...
I guess that's it. I'm sure you all really wanted to spend your precious time reading all the things involving my art life. Hope you enjoyed it.

Lazy
Lately I've been re-evaluating my life.
Last year I was pretty productive and as the new year starts I wanted have the same result as the year prior. I started writing a book with a friend of mine and we've been working on it since last September. It's a DRRR fan-fiction. Working on it for so long it becomes apparent to me how much DRRR has taken over my life in the past few months. I have literally become so engrossed that my writing room is filled with all things Shizuo and Izaya.
Writing this story has tapped into a lot of creativity for me. However in that same breath I wonder if it's worth all this effort. No one will ever read it as I don't think I will be able to publish it seeing as it's not original. I don't want to steal another person's creativity and these characters are not mine. Even though the story is completely different from anything that the manga suggests the bottom line is still there.
I don't know.
I did show it to a few people. One guy actually thought it was a real episode and asked me when that episode would be showing on tv. I laughed and told him it wasn't part of the anime - it was something I wrote. He didn't believe me which actually made me happy because if I could write something that close to where someone thinks it's actually part of the anime then I must have some skill, right?
Heh... who knows, maybe I am talented.
Back to what I was originally saying though, I want to try to be more productive this year than last. The goal this year is to definitely finish this DRRR book and re-visit a few Kitarro stories that need re-editing and completion. I also want to learn how to speak/read Japanese or Thai this year. Let's see, the other goal is to lose more weight (not that I'm overweight now but I could stand to lose a few; heh). And finally the last goal is to build up some savings while still being able to donate to some worthy causes. I think I'm doing alright considering its been 2 months into the new year. We'll see how the rest of the year goes though...
Off topic: I wonder what Ryohgo Narita thinks about when he sees fan-stuff...
