"Listen to me..." Clovis said, trying to get me under control, "You need to calm down. If you don't then you might as well let go of the only thing keeping us form falling. Do you want to live?"
I just stared, but I nodded after a bit.
"Now Maridan, I need you to look up. Look at where we need to be and try to climb up."
I looked at him. No, He's gotta..come with me...He's the only who pays any attention...
"B-But what about y-you? I can't climb up holding you a-and such little rope...!"
I looked at the edge of the cliff.
"Don't worry about me!" He said, firmly.
That's what Adriana said before she died...
"Worry about yourself first! If I fall I will not die. I am a vampire after all, it takes more then that to kill me." Clovi's words broke my long chain of thoughts.
I clung to him. I wasn't going to let go, no matter what. Vampire, or not, It would hurt.
"So then...Let me go." He tried to persuade me. It was working.
"W-w-what?! No way! You can get killed!"
"Didn't you hear me before? I tolled you I won't die! I can try and grab on to the rocks and climb up, I've done it before."
"No! I wont!" I'm not letting another die...
"The I have no choice..." He pried my hand from his. I fel until I coulf inlly grab a rock. I held on to it. I trembled,a nd then finally remembered my wings.
I'm such a retard... I fluffed out my wings, ans started to fly up. Clovis was a fast climber. I smiled inrelief, ans he reached the top. Ww rested for a bit, and then continued to the village.
And so we waited for other people.
I looked over at him. We hadn't really talked much since the fall.
"Sorry for being such a spaz..." I muttered, looking away and blushing. I need to stop being so protective, people can take care of themselves.
