So... have you ever had one of those moments where you're standing by a group of kids and they're talking about, you know, just one of those super fantastic geek movies and then one of the kids says, "Yeah that one character guy person was really cool." And of course you HAVE to interject and say, "Um yeah that's Thorin son of Thrane son of Thror." Then they all look at you like you crazy so you don't bother mentioning that you can write your name in Elvish. (I'm only using Lord of the Rings for an example because I just watched the extended version of The Two Towers...)
Anyway there is no shame in having some of those geeky moments! I am not a hard-core geek, myself, but I do share many of those moments with an always unsuspecting crowd. And so I would also like to make very clear that I am not, in fact, a geek. I am simply geektastic.

geek-n: 1. a person often of an intellectual bent who is disliked. 2. a person who is so passionate about a given subject or subjects as to occasionally cause annoyance among others.

geektastic-adj: marked by fantastic geek qualities; a compliment of the highest regard.

New Harry Potter Movie Franchise

Without Harry Potter...

Now stay with me! Beloved J. K. Rowling is teaming up with the Warner Bros to make another movie in the wizard world...

"Although it will be set in the worldwide community of witches and wizards where I was so happy for seventeen years, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world," Rowling said. "The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films, but Newt's story will start in New York, 70 years before Harry's gets underway."

Don't even tell me you're not excited.

Extended news on it here.

The Doctor's 50th

The 50th Anniversary. It's coming.

And I'm so very happy about that.

Not geeky? "City of Bones"

So yes the City of Bones movie comes out on Wednesday! Woot? I feel like they're not gonna follow the book... not that anyone does anymore.

I'm super excited that Aidan Turner will be playing Luke in this movie, for fellow geeks he's the guy that played Kili in The Hobbit. I bet that not many actors can say they've played both a vampire and a werewolf... Oops spoilers! Sorry. But anyway if you didn't know, our dear Aidan played John Mitchell the vampire in "Being Human" on BBC television.
Otherwise here's the cast:

Anyone else disappointed in the casting of Jace? Maybe it'll be ok but I'm a little worried...
From left to right it's: Simon, Jace, Clary, Alec, Isabelle
