Well it's not Momo's. You can't beleive everything ya know. Turns out that Momo likes my old fourth grade friend. >.< *shivers* eww. Well tonight for dinner, I'm having Chirashi sushi Yum!! Oh by the way, HAPPY CHOWDER APPRECIATION DAY!!! Momo and I made it up today!! Here are some recipies to enjoy!!
BREAKFAST SURPRISE A LA CHOWDER
2 cups cooked brown rice
½ cup soy milk
2 teaspoons honey or jam
1 apple, chopped
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons raisins
Mix all ingredients together in a medium bowl.
Keep mixing!
Mix some more.
Microwave for 30 seconds.
Let cool and enjoy!
TALLY WALLY WIGGLERS
2 cups mixed salad greens
6 each: baby carrots and cherry tomatoes
3 slices turkey breast, cut into strips
¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons ranch dressing
¼ cup corn chips
Place greens, carrots, tomatoes, turkey and cheese in a large resealable plastic bag.
Place the dressing in a separate small resealable plastic bag.
Cut one corner of the plastic bag with the dressing and squeeze it onto the salad.
Add the secret ingredient: Jiggle! Seal the large bag and shake lightly to mix up the ingredients.
Top with corn chips and enjoy!
CRUNCHY-'NANNER-APPLE HALFWICH
½ small banana, peeled
1 cup shredded carrots
2 tsp. lemon juice
¼ tsp. grated lemon zest
2 bibb or butter lettuce leaves
1 slice whole-grain pumpernickel bread
2 thin unpeeled apple slices
Mash the banana in a small bowl.
Add the carrots, lemon juice and lemon zest, and stir to combine.
Place the lettuce on the bread, top with the carrot salad and apple slices.
*Note: For super-appley or super-banana-y flavor, use No-Fruit. If no No-Fruit are available, regular fruit is acceptable.
GRUNTY FLEX-O-BEEFEROLE
1 lb. 95% lean ground beef
¾ cup chopped onions
¼ cup uncooked rice
2 cups chopped potatoes
1 (15 oz.) can kidney beans
1 (8 oz.) can tomato paste
½ tsp. Worcestershire sauce
¼ tsp. chili powder
¼ tsp. pepper
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Brown ground beef with onion in skillet, stirring until crumbly; drain.
3. Layer ground beef mixture, rice, potatoes, and beans in large casserole.
4. Combine remaining ingredients with ½ cup water in a bowl, mixing well.
5. Pour over casserole.
6. Growl and flex your muscles at the casserole to give it extra bravado.
7. Bake covered at 350 degrees for 1 ½ hours.
POLLY WOGGLE FROGGY LOGS
8 oz. fat-free cream cheese (room temp.)
8 oz. can crushed pineapple (drained)
Celery
Green food coloring
Whip cream cheese until soft and fluffy.
Blend drained pineapple with cream cheese until completely mixed together.
Add in green food coloring to desired shade.
Clean and trim celery, cut into desired pieces.
Fill celery with cream cheese mixture and place on serving tray.
Cover and chill until ready to serve.
CRUMBLE ZU-COIN-IES
½ cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
3 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
¼ tsp. pepper
3 cups thinly sliced zucchini "coins" (about 1 lb.)
2 egg whites (lightly beaten)
Cooking spray
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Combine first three ingredients, stir well.
Dip zucchini slices in egg whites, dredge in breadcrumb mixture
Coat baking sheet with cooking spray, place zucchini in a single layer on sheet.
Bake for 20 minutes.
Turn zucchini over and bake an additional 15 minutes or until outside is crispy and browned.
