Hello, my name's Nimbusoak. I'm not telling you my real name, so feel free to give me nicknames. NICKNAMES ARE COOL!
I'm a 16 year old punk rocker/comic artist/jedi from New England and I'm female, if you were wondering. For fun, I like playing video games, watching cartoons, taking my mastiff for walks, and kvetching about the idiots who run my country. I play guitar (badly). I have 8 younger siblings, which is why I'm crazy. I think.

Favorite whatnots:
Anime/Cartoons: Trigun, Blue Exorcist, Slayers, OHSHC, Cowboy Bebop, Teen Titans, Batman: The Anmimated Series and Brave and the Bold (I'm a Batman nerd , My Little Pony
Manga/Comics: Rurouni Kenshin, Hellboy, Naruto, Hopeless Savages
Movies (to name a few): Guardians of the Galaxy, Brave, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Sunset Boulevard, Tangled, the original Star Wars trilogy

My new account is WildGirl1977. Check it out, you!

I wasn't amused. Not even a bit.

Good going, Mr President

Before I begin this rant, let me just say that Barack Obama didn't have my vote to start with. I have always disliked him as a politician. As a person, though, I tried to reserve judgement because I don't personally know him. Until now. That nice neutral opinion turned to ash this week when Obama made a joke that was, in my opinion, downright blasphemous.
Did anyone else hear about this? He apparently jokingly expressed the desire to do a "Jedi mind meld" on Congress. I'm sorry, but you do not mix franchises like that. NPR did a very nice bit in which they explained the difference between a Jedi mind trick and a Vulcan mind meld, and they even had a sound clip of what a Vulcan mind meld on congress would sound like ("THE PAIN!"). I feel that is not enough, however, and that the president really needs to understand the magnitude of his error*. Star Wars and Star Trek are two very different things, and I'm fed up with people assuming that they're pretty much the same. Sure, they're both hugely popular sci-fi series, but that's pretty much where the similarities end. I mean, Buddhism and Judaism are two major religions, but no one assumes that they're pretty much the same. If you assume they're the same, the Jews and the Buddhists get angry at you, so that's why you don't do it. So why is it okay to make Star Trek fans and Star Wars fans angry?**
The really ironic part of this is that Mr Obama was presumably trying to seem like your average Joe by making this humorous pop-culture reference. Instead, he has offended every nerd in the nation and revealed without a doubt that no, he is not your average Joe. More like your average Warren Auguste Poindexter the Third or something. And of course the media isn't about to let this go. I look forward to at least another three months of bad jokes about this incident. I will await them, and in the meantime I will be killing Klingons with my lightsaber (kidding!).

All I want

All I ask for in life is
a) A refurbished Dell desktop that runs Windows XP
b) That thing from the Hitchhiker's Trilogy that shows you the whole of creation, and then shows where you fit in. It's about time my peers got some perspective.
c) Pocky. I'm hungry.

Secret Santa Valentine's Day Wallpapers 2013 Wish List

Okay, so I signed up for Zombieusagi's S.S. Valentine's Day wallpaper event, so I'm making a wishlist:

  • Black Cat Certainly my all-time favorite manga. Any character you put on it is fine, except Kyoko. She's overrated, sorry. I'd love one with Jenos, I can't seem to find a good wallpaper with him on it. Maybe one with Rinslet and Jenos?
  • Anything Tolkien I'm a really big Tolkien fan, so maybe a Lord of the Rings or Hobbit wallpaper? I saw The Hobbit: an Unexpected Journey in December and absolutely loved it, so something from that might be neat.
  • The Adventures of Tintin Movie or comics, it doesn't matter, because love them both.
  • My last request is rather strange and elaborate. Okay, so I, like many others, have fallen under the spell of the British TV show Doctor Who. And last night I was listening to City of Blinding Lights by U2, my favorite rock band. I have heard this song many times, but when I heard the lyrics, "Time won't leave me as I am/ but time won't take the boy out of this man", well, maybe it isn't entirely appropriate, but I though of the Doctor. I instantly wanted to make a wallpaper out of this, but I doubt I could do it justice, so if my Secret Santa wants to do it for me, I would be deeply obliged.

Bleahhhh.

I think I was issued with a defective mind-to-mouth filter when I was born. Without going into details, let's just say I'm having a rough month.
Oh, and Zuzu Uchiha, I will get around to doing a post about my siblings. I am the queen of procrastination.
