Chapter 5: Befriending

Kalea walked along the path she followed every night across Jumplake hills and into the secluded area, she sat down for a minute or two before leaning over and looking into the pond, sure enough there was a figure at the bottom it moved suddenly and zoomed out of the pond to stand in front of Kalea “who are you and what are you doing here?” she asked coldly
”woahh…” said Kalea with awe “your Mink aren’t you? I’ve admired you for, like, sooo long now, I can’t believe I’m actually meeting you” she had made herself slightly shorter than usual the average height for a woman so she could look up at Mink it plus it made a more convincing act “whaaa?” Mink looked pretty shocked “what do you mean? I don’t get you? Aren’t you that detective woman?” oops well Kalea obviously hadn’t covered her tracks as well as she had thought well she couldn’t lie about it that would just make her seem more suspicious she dropped personality and spoke normally “yeah I work as a detective, but I’m an Elf we need to stick together and those people who wanted to cut down the forest deserve to die!” quick thinking “I only joined the detective force to find out more about you before introducing myself, I already knew why you were killing people and I really admire you for it Pizies and Elves should work together against humans!” she felt quite proud that was quite a convincing act. Mink seemed to think so as well “well I agree Pizies and Elves are close allies but, how do I know I can trust you? For all I know this could be a trap to catch me” her eyes were sceptical
