Envied-Chapter 1 and 2

This is my first fanfiction, and I am doing it on FullMetal Alchemist, with the main character as Envy. I love him so much.
DISCLAIMER: I don't own the title FullMetal Alchemist, or any of the characters. Just saying.

This story takes place during 67+ chapters of Full Metal Alchemist. For those who haven't read up to this part, be warned (meh, not really...).
Also, there is moderate language, but nothing that would normally be censored on the internet!
**UPDATE** Yes, there is language. Envy is Envy, he can't help it. Bad language is censored. Still, be warned.
--Chapter 1--

"...Yes, 2nd Lt. Breda, I understand you're busy in the West, but...", Colonel Roy Mustang paused to listen to his old friend who once served under him, but was split, along with Lt. Hawkeye, Sgt. Major Fuery, and 2nd Lt. Falman, up by the Führer in an attempt to keep the five apart, but it wasn't working very well.

"...Ugh, fine! I'll handle it myself!" SLAM! Mustang wasn't happy that he was left alone with absolutely nothing to do, and still couldn't piece together the Homunculus' plan. Even less now that the Elric Brothers had headed up North to Fort Briggs.

"Err... Colonel Mustang?" Captain Fokker knocked on the door of Mustang's office nervously.
"What? Who is it? What do you want?" He answered, irritated.

"Err, it's Captain Fokker, sir, and I brought the Dragon Scale Alchemist like you requested, sir." Fokker responded, startled by the Colonel's sharp answer. "May I enter, sir?"

"Ah? Mm... yes. Bring her in."

The Dragon Scale Alchemist, better known as Auori Deveu, was the newest licensed State Alchemist, at the age of 18, no less, being the 2nd youngest State Alchemist (next to the Full Metal Alchemist) ever licensed, and the first of very few female alchemists in existence to be licensed, to boot.

"Is there s-something that you wish t-to talk about, Colonel M-Mustang?" Auori asked nervously.
"No need to be nervous, Miss Deveu, or should I address you as Ms. Deveu? Heh heh..." Mustang joked. "Oh, yes, Fokker, you can leave."

"Yes, sir, Colonel," Fokker, said, taking his leave. As he left, Auori had a look of worry on her face, as if she done something wrong. She had just gotten her license only a month ago, so she was scared that she would have it revoked by pure accident.

"Now, Miss Deveu," Mustang said, as Auori flinched. "I heard from the wind that you have found a...a..." *gulp* "...a...b-boyfriend, is that correct?" Mustang finished, relieved in some way.
"Err... yes, Colonel Mustang, I have. Is there something wrong?" She responded, relieved it wasn't something bad.
"Well, Miss Deveu, as you know, 2nd Lt. Havoc was found to be dating a Homunculus undercover as a woman named, 'Solaris', so please do be careful with this man, yes? Don't reveal anything involving the military, no, don't reveal ANYTHING even remotely involving the military to him until..." Mustang thought for a moment.
"ONE MONTH! If he is worthy and keeps this up for ONE MONTH, you will be able to speak freely. Then again, by that time this whole charade will be over, the Führer will be removed and hopefully killed... you do know about the Führer, do you not?" Auori nodded that she knew. "Perfect! Now if you excuse me, I'll be calling my gal... heh heh..." He turned away in his chair, and started dialing the office phone.

Auori took this as a relief, but a warning, as she left the Colonel's office. "Thank goodness I didn't get revoked... I haven't done anything wrong, have I?" She mumbled to herself.
"AAH!" A voice exclaimed, as Auori bumped into 2nd Class Pv. Sheska by accident, spilling all her books.
"Oh! Sorry, Sheska..." Auori said, flustered and upset. "Here, let me help you..."
"It's okay, really, Major Auori, I can get them..." Sheska exclaimed, bending down to retrieve her books. But before she can even touch them, they fly off the floor and into a neat stack in Auori's hands.

"Goodness! How do you do that? I've never seen that kind of Alchemy before!" Sheska exclaimed, as Auori handed the books over to her.
"It's what my country calls 'Wind Alchemy'. I come from Aerugo, where alchemy is not very popular. However, the few people who practice alchemy developed this technique, where you take energy from your body and 'inject' it into air, creating wind. A few from South Amestris call it 'levitation' because we can lift things, like your books, into the air using it." She explained.

"Sounds really confusing..." Sheska muttered, utterly confused.
"Not really..." Auori claimed. "But it does take a lot of energy out of me... even as small a task as picking up your books wear me out... I need to get home..."
Auori began to walk toward the door clumsily, as Sheska asked if she needed a ride home.
"Nah, I'll be fine." she responded. "My boyfriend is probably waiting outside for me."

Auori slowly made it outside, to find a man waiting for her on the steps, dressed in a jacket and jeans. He turned around to see her there.
"Hey, Ri-ri," he said in a sweet voice. "What did the Colonel want?"
"Can't tell you. Which is exactly what he wanted." Auori said. "So, no military stuff, okay?"
Auori's boyfriend grunted. "Hmph. He doesn't trust me?"
"He's afraid the same thing'll happen like with 2nd Lt. Havoc and 'Solaris'." Auori paused. "Oops. I shouldn't say anymore...let's go get something to eat. I'm really tired." Her boyfriend stood up, and grasped her hand.
"Are you okay? Did the Colonel overwork you or something-" "Shush." Auori cut off. "Let's just get something to eat, okay?"
Auori took her boyfriend away from the building, as he looked back, his purple eyes glinting.

--Chapter 1.5--

"Oh, bore..." Envy whined. "I never get to know anything, you know, Lust?"
Hardly glancing at him, Lust commented, "Don't screw up. Go along with it." Envy leaned towards Lust.
"Right, like your plans always work out perfectly." He teased, just as Lust grasped his face with her clawed hand.
"Shut up, will you, Envy?" She said, irritated. "Can't you ever just do as I say?"
Envy grabbed her hand and shoved it aside. "Nope," he said, grinning. As he got up and strutted out the door, he whispered, "And that's why I'm so dangerous..."

--Chapter 2--

Auori sat, spacing out, at her desk, with a pile of blank paper if front of her.
"...ugh..." she groaned, frustrated. "I can't think of a single damn thing."
*Knock knock...*
"Yes? Come in..." Auori said, sitting up.
"It's Sgt. Brosh, Dragon Scale Alchemist Auori. I need you to fill something..." Brosh said as he entered, and then glanced at the pile of paper in front of Auori. "Um... do you already have work to do?" Auori looked up, confused.
"Hmm? What do you-- oh! No, this is just my drawing paper. Don't worry."

"Alright," Brosh said. "I just need you to fill out this form allowing that you can be out of the Central Command Building."
Auori perked up, suddenly interested. "Really?" She asked, as Brosh nodded. "Thank goodness! I was getting so bored around here... but don't tell the Colonel that, okay?" Auori then took the paper from Brosh's hand, and signed it with a swift dash. "Alright, then! So I can leave now?"
"As soon as this is processed, then y--" Brosh attempted to respond, but Auori had already packed away her drawing paper, pencils, and a few other items into a large bag, and headed out the door. Brosh looked around, confused at what just happened.
"I don't know how she moves that fast..." He sighed, and left with the signed paper in his hands.

"Oh, Reyven!" Auori said in a sing-song voice into her phone. "Come meet me at Springo's for some food!" She paused, waiting for his response. "Oh, no, I'm safe now! Out of there! Now, at least, I can travel around as an official State Alchemist!" She paused again. "Yes, I know, I'll watch out for whatever is killing off alchemists. Trust me, okay?" *Beep*
Auori sighed a breath of relief. I'm out of there, and now, I can spend more time helping people, and being with Reyven!"

--Later--

"Hm..." Reyven said, gazing out the window.
"Is something wrong?" Auori asked, with a hint of worry in her voice.
"Eh?" Reyven said, shaking his head. "Nah, I'm fine." Auori smiled.
"Biggest lie ever told, Reyven," Auori said sweetly. "I know something's up. You haven't eaten ANY of your food, and even if you have, it's salad. You never eat salad. Usually, you order a huge platter of meat and potatoes and--"

"Let's just say... I'm going on a diet." He cut off, in a calming voice. "You don't seem to be feeling too well yourself..."
Auori glanced down at her own plate. Barely changed from when she got it. She looked up, eyebrows turned.
"Well... it's just..." she began. "I just wish I could tell you everything, what I'm going to do as an alchemist, and how I'll rise among the ranks, and even sort out the Homunculi's pla--" She looked up, with a pang of anxiety. Reyven suddenly became pale, his violet eyes wrought with stress and pain. Has she gotten clues? It could be possible, considering how smart she is... he thought, then he shook his head. No, not yet. I guess I'm safe... for now...
"Reyven, are you okay?" Auori asked, shaking a bit from worry, and bringing Reyven back to his senses. "You're shaking, and you look even paler than usual."

Reyven stood up, and taking the two untouched plates with him. "I'll get them to wrap this up and pay the check. I'm gonna go home." He took a glance at Auori's worried face. "...sorry, Ri-ri..."
Auori also stood up, taking one of the plates from Reyven's chilled hands. "I'm going with you. I couldn't live with myself if something were to happen to you, and I let it happen."
Say no, a voice echoed in Reyven's head. Get back to the 5th base. Leave her there.
But why? Envy responded. I can't just leave her here. It could risk losing her.
Make up an excuse, you idiot. Lust's voice countered. Unless you've gone... soft?
Envy shut his eyes tightly, debating the situation.
"Reyven?" Auori shook his shoulder slightly. "Come on. I'll take you home."
Think fast! Lust shouted. Don't let her find out!
"Er... how about we just go back to your house for a bit, okay?" Envy quickly said, converting back to his role as 'Reyven'.
"Mmm... alright. I could take care of you better there." Auori agreed. "But let's go quickly. You look like you're going to pass out at any second."
The two quickly wrapped up the plates and payed the check, and left the restaurant.
