The next chapter!!! I'm wondering if anyone reads this.....
“You’re late, Edward” the tall man in blue without glasses said strictly. Even though he acted cold, I could tell he could be nice when he wanted to. He was extremely handsome with black flowing hair. Not like the models or gay men but, it flowed in a mysterious way. The other one looked older, but he was still young. He had black hair also, but it didn’t flow. He was handsome, but he wasn’t as handsome. Well at least that’s what I thought. I don’t like guys with facial hair, only hair on their heads.
“By ten minutes, give me a break. I would have been later if I hadn’t taken this train.” Edward replied hastily.
“I know that’s exactly why I told you to get on this one.” The man replied solemnly. Edward growled under his breath.
“Who are they?” I whispered into Edwards ear.
“Colonel Roy Mustang and Lieutenant Maes Hughes.” Edward whispered annoyingly. I looked at both of them while I wondered who was who.
“Awwetta, who are the scary men?” Hilai wined. I gave her a stern look.
“These are men from the military, Hilai.” I explained. She looked confused. “These are the people who go ‘bam bam’. You know, the people who have the sparkly lights on their cars.... erm.... the riding shiny madoober." I explained more ‘clearly’.
“Oh!! Right!!” Hilai exclaimed in…umm… acknowledgement. The two men looked at us like we were retards. I looked at them and gave them a friendly smile. Then I looked down at my feet in embarrassment.
“Edward, quit babbling to the girls you picked up on the train and let’s get a move on.” The one with glasses barked in a non-rude tone.
“What?!” Edward and I squawked.
“I…ugh… him…ehh…no. Sorry!” I stammered.
“Ok, ok. Whatever you two say… but let’s just get a move on.” The man chuckled. The man without glasses didn’t change his strict expression. I eyed him suspiciously; even though there was nothing to be suspicious about.
“With all do respect, what’s with you?” I asked him, not minding my tongue.
“I’m not at my best mood because we’re supposed to be investigating a murder right about now.” He barked without looking at me.
“Well, terribly sorry.” I mumbled.
“We need to get to the scene as soon as possible so… we’ll need to take motorcycles.” The man without glasses stated. I looked at the motorcycles. They sparkled in their own color. They were green, blue, red, and jet black.
“Come on little girl, you can ride with me.” The man without glasses said in a teasing way without expression.
“Excuse me little boy… I believe you don’t know who you’re talking to.” I growled.
“Yes I believe I’m talking to a very pretty girl, now hop on.” He said actually smirking. I wasn’t sure if I was flattered or flustered. The man swung his leg over the bike, “Come on.” He repeated. I swung my leg over and grabbed the back of his shirt. Hilai and Edward got on one motorcycle, while Kurt got on by himself.
“You know how to control that thing?” the man with glasses asked Kurt while mounting his bike.
“Yeah. I think so.” Kurt confirmed while he watched Al get on with the same bike as the man. I was unsure of my brother’s answer. I watched the man without glasses turn the key on the motorcycle and start moving.
“So, what’s your name?” the man asked me when we began to accelerate.
“Aaretta.” I replied, “You? What’s your name… well… I know it’s either Maes or Roy, I’m just not sure which one you are.”
“Well, guess. Let’s see if you’re right.” He smirked.
“I need to see your face if I’m going to guess.” I answered. We pulled up to a stoplight and he turned around. I looked deep into his eyes. He was even more handsome up close.
“You’re…Green.” I said.
“Huh?” he questioned.
“Turn around!!” I yelled. He turned around and got the message and started driving. I thought about it. Maes or Roy. Ugh… why is this so hard?? I thought hard, with a total guess: Maes Hughes. But I listened to his voice in my head.
“Roy….” I mumbled.
“Yeah?” the man answered as if I were going to ask him a question.
“Your name’s Roy?” I asked.
“Yeah. It is. Lucky guess. What made you think I was Roy?” he asked.
“I don’t really know.” I replied blankly. How did I know?
“You know, Aaretta, you can hold on tighter.” Roy suggested.
“No, I’m fine. I’m not scared anyways.” I replied. Roy started to swerve the bike back and forth. I grabbed his shirt tighter. “Stop it!!” I laughed. He started to go faster. I hit him in the back of the head. “Quit it!” I yelled seriously.
“You scared?” he teased.
“Not at all!!” I yelled and let go of his shirt completely. He stopped swerving and speeding.
“You’re not that fun, are you?” Roy asked.
“I’m loads of fun, I just don’t get scared.” I replied.
“Whatever…” Roy replied bored.
“So, you don’t think I’m fun?” I asked rudely.
“Well, you’re hard to get.” He replied.
“I find myself very easy to get.” I stated.
“Well, I the man trying, would beg to differ.” He said.
“So, what kind of murder?” I asked changing the subject.
“A kid murdered his entire family.” Roy stated coldly. I thought about it. This happens to others too.
“You ok? You seem, quiet now.” He turned around.
“I’m…fine.” I said while looking at the ground. He turned around. We pulled into a driveway. I turned around and saw Hilai holding onto Ed tightly. I rolled my eyes.
“Tard…” I mumbled. When we stopped I got off quickly. Maes walked over. He went over to Roy and whispered in Roy’s ear, “You look like you enjoyed your ride.” He smirked in Roy’s ear. Roy nudged him and Hughes chuckled. Kurt came up behind me and gave me a hug.
“You look distant, what’s the matter?” he asked me. I turned my head and whispered, “The murderer, was a kid. He murdered his family.” I replied. Kurt kept hugging me.
“It’s ok.” He whispered. I nodded and walked out of his hug. Roy watched the whole hugging scene while Maes knelt on the floor and examined the dead bodies.
“Roy, can you give me a hand over here?” he called.
“Yeah…” Roy said kind of distant while turning his head from watching me. Then he walked over and helped Hughes.
“Eww.” Hilai squealed while she saw the blood on the ground.
“It’s ok.” I said while putting her head onto my shoulder so she couldn’t see. “Just don’t look at it. Imagine puppies and unicorns!”
“Yummy. I like corn!!” Hilai cheered.
“Umm… I mean… whatever.” I sighed. I snuck a look under the tarp. I saw the dead bodies. I cringed. I remembered looking at my mother and Miss Ilandere lying on the ground. Then Kurt put his hand on my shoulder and all the memories went away. I sighed in relief. If I looked at the sight any longer I might have gone crazy just then.
“I guess it does happen to others.” I stated while I turned to Kurt and stalked off to Maes.
“So, do you know how they were killed? I mean, with what.” I asked.
“They were each shot twice, and two were stabbed in the chest.” Hughes informed.
“Oh.” I said in a daze.
“Just curious, why do you ask?” Maes asked.
“Oh, I don’t know I’m just curious.” I lied. He nodded. I stared at the tarp as my spine tingled. Then I saw a kid come out of a building with police. I watched him walk.
“Who’s that kid?” I asked.
“He’s the kid that committed the murder.” Roy informed me. I watched him get escorted by the police into the police car. I folded my arms around my stomach. I then walked over to Kurt.
“The boy looks like he’s Itachi’s age when…” I started.
“I know.” Kurt hushed me while he put his arm around me, making me feel comforted. I closed my eyes and let him hold me a bit longer to get rid of the terrible memories. Then I took a deep breath and opened my eyes again. I looked up into the sky now so I wouldn’t see anything. While I looked up, I covered my throat with my hand… like always. It’s a phobia I have. I’m afraid of when I stick my neck out, someone could come out and slit my throat. Random and creepy, but true. After ten minutes, Maes and Roy walked over to us.
“Alright, that’s all we can do for now.” Roy stated.
“Do you mind if we come with you before we go home?” Edward asked.
“No, not at all.” Roy replied. We walked back to the motorcycles. We were going back to our before partners.
“Hey…” I spoke up.
“Yeah?” Roy asked.
“Can I drive?” I smirked while putting my hand in my pockets.
“Feh… you… want to drive this thing?” he asked shocked.
“Yeah, why not? Kurt can, and so can I. Well, if I want to.” I nodded.
“Go ahead, give it a shot.” Roy smirked. I smiled swung myself on the seat, and grabbed onto the handlebars. I turned around and smiled at him. He smiled and shook his head as he mounted the bike. I started the bike, and drove off.
“Wow, you’re pretty good at this.” Roy stated.
“Yeah… I guess I am.” I smiled. My brother pulled up to the side of us.
“Hey!! When did you start driving motor cycles?!” Kurt shouted to me.
“Oh, about a short time after you did!” I smirked. Kurt chuckled. Roy watched Kurt smile.
“Hey, which way should I turn?” I asked when we got to the spot light.
“Huh? Oh, turn left.” Roy answered. I turned the handlebars left.
“You don’t need to hold on?” I teased him.
“Huh, no… I’m fine.” Roy replied kind of distant. I giggled while I expected him to chuckle too, but he didn’t. I continued till he told me to pull into the near parking lot. I did and stopped the motorcycle in the parking space next to the big building. I turned the motorcycle off, and got off the bike. Roy got off and kicked the kickstand down. We walked together to the others. Together we all walked into the building all the way to an office. The office belonged to Roy.
“Is there an reports for you to give me now?” Edward asked Roy irritated.
“Surprisingly not today.” Roy said while looking through paper work.
“Since there’s nothing else for today, why don’t we drive you guys home?” Maes suggested.
“Ughh….. where is home?” I turned to Kurt. Kurt looked at me. He didn’t know the answer. We never really thought about that.
“You can stay with us,” Alphonse suggested. All three of us turned our heads toward Alphonse.
“Huh?” I asked confused.
“Yeah, I mean… that’s fine.” Edward confirmed.
“You, don’t mind, living….with me?” I asked.
“Well, I guess not.” Edward smirked. I put my hands on my hips and smirked back.
“Alright then, we’re staying with you guys.” I confirmed. Hilai secretly grinned. I rolled my eyes at her silliness.
“How about we take the five of you to dinner?” Maes invited.
“Alright!!” Edward cheered. I shrugged and decided we’d go to, since we’re going to go home with them. Maes and Roy led us to the parking lot again, but instead we got in a black car. The whole car ride was quiet. We pulled up to a building with a green roof. We walked in and sat at a big table. I sat in between Kurt and Hilai and across from Maes and Roy. The Waiter came by and took our order. I only got a bowl of soup, I wasn’t that hungry.
“So what are your guys’ names again?” Roy asked.
“Well, I’m Kurt, this is Hilai, and Aaretta.” Kurt said while pointing to each of us. Roy nodded.
“So, how long have you and Kurt been together, Aaretta?” Maes smirked.
“Wha…huh?” I looked at him confused. Roy looked flustered at the question.
“Well, it’s obvious, that’s why you weren’t interested in Edward” Maes smiled.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa…. Aaretta’s not my girlfriend!! She’s my sister!” Kurt exclaimed. Maes looked confused and Roy looked up from the table, not flustered anymore.
“Oh, well…. I’m sorry for assuming that.” Maes apologized.
“It’s fine.” I laughed at thinking Kurt and me were together. Our food came and we ate.
“So, where do you guys live?” I asked the brothers.
“Here in town” Edward replied with a mouthful of food. We all paid part of the bill and left to the parking lot.
“We can take you home,” Roy offered. We all accepted and got I the car. It took ten minutes to get to our new home. We pulled up in the driveway and Roy walked us up to the house.
“We’ll call you if we need you” Roy told Edward. Edward nodded and walked in the house. The others followed.
“Hey, Aaretta,” Roy started. I turned around. “If you wanted…. Umm…. You could come and…. stay with me. If you’d like.” Roy said. I looked him in the eyes. For some reason I actually wanted to stay with him, but I knew I couldn’t; especially because Hilai wanted to stay.
“Roy, I would…. Like to but…. Hilai wants to stay here. I’m sorry. I would if it weren’t for Hilai’s decision.” I replied.
“Oh, It’s okay…” Roy sighed. “I’ll see you soon, okay?”
“Yeah, alright” I smiled.
“Goodnight, Aaretta,” Roy said.
“G-night” I replied and walked in the house. I walked in to see the living room. There wasn’t much in the house. I followed Hilai down the hallway that Ed showed us. The room had two beds, a small closet, and two dressers. One dresser had a mirror. This, was our new home.
