"So," said Ace, "I guess you're not changing for the party?"
"No," replied Gome, "I would have gone as Klavier Gavin, but I was already in the Franziska outfit and it's way more fun to inflict bodily harm to people than just air guitar." she glanced at Ace's suit. "What about you?"
"Oh, just a sec," he said, heading for the bathroom.
Ace returned in a black jumpsuit and a V for Vendetta mask.
"Epic Fail Guy," muttered Gome, "Typical."
Just then, a familiar voice rang out. "Hey, you two! When did you get here?"
"Oh, hi, Nehs!" greeted Ace, "We just arrived with Beth. By the way, who's the hottie with the cowbell?"
Nehszriah didn't even bother to turn around. "Her? That would be Shinmarustein's Moeblob."
"It's ShinmaruSTEEN!"
"We know, Shin," rang out the entire room in unison.
Ace was amused by the display, but it drew his attention to some of the more interesting costumes in the room.
"So Shin is dressed as a mad scientist, I see."
Nehs sighed. "Ace, he is a mad scientist. One of the people in this room is an artificial life form he created."
"Oh, right. Let's see, Who's the one in the giant Navi outfit?"
"Shahllen," chortled Nehs, "he came dressed as Adam, but a few of us jumped him and forced him into that. We figured it fit his personality better."
"HEY! LISTEN! HEY! HEY! LOOK! LISTEN!"
Nearby, a very irate Adam, who had come dressed as Batman because he was a mayor named Adam and that concept would not let Family Guy get out of my head, looked about ready to punch the young party crasher in the face. However, he had another idea for the festivities of the evening.
"Good people of Otaku City, for the next two hours, you are all promoted to police officers while you are in this room. You can all take turns tossing Shahllen out the door!"
A rousing cheer was heard and three different people went off and prepared to chronicle the proceedings.
"Well, at least it's nice to see Link getting a break from that annoying fairy," smiled Ace.
"Look closer," said Nehs, "That's Desbreko."
"Of course, I should have known."
The Hero of Time that Ace was referring to was leaning on a nearby pillar, hitting on Michigor playfully. Michi, in the meantime, was fondling a meat cleaver behind her back.
Ace cringed. "Sure hope that's a prop."
"Oh, and have you noticed Allamorph?"
"Just noticed him," replied Ace, "Nice."
"I'm a bit confused, though," said Nehs, "Why is it Indi and Korey are also dressed as Basement Cat? I thought there was only one."
"He says he's singlehandedly supporting the failing stock market by offering decent jobs as minions and paying in cheeseburgers."
"Ah."
"Uh, guys? anyone else feel that tremor?" queried a nervous Jomz (dressed as Simon, incidentally.)
