Chapter Forty-Five: First time on a plane

-Jason-

“Okay Jay this is the last shot for the day.” My mother said wiping a spot on my bicep with an alcohol wipe.

It’s been three months since Elijah started school. Mom and dad have to tackle how many different DNA’s that are in my DNA one at a time. So about two weeks ago I started getting shots. I wasn’t very thrilled about getting shots, but my parents thought that this would be the best way to be able to get rid of the other DNA’s that haven’t taken effect to my body yet.

I took a breath and nodded trying to lower my heart rate and looking away from mom as I felt the prick in my arm and the fluid going into my arm. I looked up at the ceiling and took a deep breath again.

“I’m sorry dear. I’m all done now.” My mom said throwing out the needle and taking off her gloves.

“Are you sure that it’s alright for me to go and see one of Elijah’s games?” I asked rolling down my sleeve.

My mom nodded. “You need to let this series of shots settle in.”

“Thank you.” I smiled a little.

“Get going, your father’s probably already waiting for you at the car to take you to the air port.” My mom said practically pushing me out the door.

I hugged her and then ran out to the car. “How did it go?” My dad asked as he had himself propped on the hood of the car.

“I don’t feel any different.” I answered.

“You’ll probably feel something later. This round of serum I was trying to get rid of the fish DNA.” My dad explained.

My dad was the one that was working on the serums that were being given to me through shots. “So I guess it’s keep an eye on my gills right.” I smiled getting into the front passenger side of the car.

“Yep let me know what happens.” He nodded as he also got into the car and drove me to the airport.

“You know where your going when you get there right?” My dad asked handing me my ticket.

“Yes dad. We went over this already. I’ll be fine.” I laughed a little taking the ticket.

“Alright. Let your mom or I know when you get there.” He said.

“I promise I will.” I smiled and then waved and walked towards the tunnel.

It was my first time on a plane and I was a bit nervous, but I knew that I would be able to see Elijah soon. By the time that I would be getting to her college she would be at practice. I was able to get in touch with her roommate to let her know I was coming up to see Elijah and see a few of their games. She was excited to actually meet me in person from seeing me on skype a few times. I told her what time my flight was supposed to land and when I was going to be getting to the college and she told me that the would be in practice by then. She promised that She wouldn’t tell Elijah that I was coming down but that she would have a surprise for her.

I was excited to see Elijah again. It wasn’t going to be for very long, but it was still nice to be able to get some time to see my girlfriend. The plane ride was terrifying when we were taking off and landing, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought that it was going to be.

I made it to the college and waited outside of the gym for basketball practice to be done to see Elijah.
