-Jason-
We weren’t driving long we were at the end of the block. It was a nice house from what I could see from the car window. I got out once the car was turned off and looked at the house. It was a two-story light blue house with green shingle on the roof. I closed the door behind me and I flinched when my father patted me on the back.
“It’s been a while since you’ve seen the place.” He said to me and walked over to the trunk and I helped grabbed my bags as my mother went to the door to unlock the house.
When I got into the house I looked around. It was different from what I remembered. There was a lot more dust around. It was damp as well.
“Sorry about how damp it is Jason, we’ll get the place warmed up soon. We’ve been in Africa for a couple of months.” My father said.
“Why don’t you go upstairs and get settled in.” My mother said and I nodded and took the bags that I was holding upstairs. The memories of when I was younger and walked into the room that was my room. It was strange but it made me smile to see cartoons on the walls and a Yu-Gi-Oh blanket resting on the bed.
I set my bags down and walked over to the bed I knew it was too small for me and I should just go and find another room. It just made me more curious on how I would have turned out if I wasn’t taken.
Taking a deep breath I went back to my bags and shut the door behind me. There was no point on dewling on what never happened. I went to one of the rooms a couple of doors down and walked in. There was a full sized bed in the left corner of the room the dresser was in the opposite corner with a mirror attached to it. I looked at myself in the mirror. My hair was starting to grow again. I smiled a little, I was actually glad that I didn’t have black hair anymore. I felt different. I don’t know if it was because of being back in my old house again after fourteen years or the fact that I was able to muster up the courage to ask Eli to the dance.
I placed my bags down and went down to the living room and got the rest of my bags. My parents were cleaning up the house and didn’t hear me come down to grab the rest of my bags. I looked over at them and then went back up to my new room.
It was quiet in the house…I didn’t like it…I felt like I was back in the lab where I would wait for the doctors to come and get me to conduct more experiments on me. Doesn’t it figure that my parents were doctors as well. It was a bit ironic, probably why I didn’t feel as happy to come back.

I woke up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night with a scream. I didn’t mean to wake my parents up but they came rushing into the room to see what was wrong. I told them it was nothing; that it was just a bad dream and I’ll be fine. My mother brushed her hand threw my hair as my father walked out of the room.
“What’s the matter, there’s something else that is bothering you Jason. “My mother said.
I looked away from her, “It’s n-nothing, I-I have a doctors a-appointment tomorrow morning.” I told her.
“What happened? Are you alright?” She asked me.
“I-I’ve been gone f-for fourteen years, t-they just want t-to make sure I-I’m alright.” I answered with a small smile.
“Okay hun. You can always come to me if you ever have a problem.” She mentioned placing a hand on the side of my face and then kissing my forehead before heading back to her own room to get some rest.
I sat there for a bit longer and looked out the window that was letting to moon light into the room. I caught myself wondering what Elijah was doing, with what time it was, she was probably sleeping. I sighed and laid back down and turned my back to the door and fell back asleep.

My doctor’s appointment went well and I was told that I was allowed to go back to playing gym. My ribs were still going to be sore for a couple more weeks but I could begin to do some activity. They did the blood tests and my blood was fine.
“There’s something off about your DNA Jason.” She told me.
“W-what do you mean?” I asked.
“Your DNA…it looks like it’s been mixed with some other type of DNA. We don’t know what but we would like to take a hair sample to be able to figure out what your DNA is mixed with.” She said.
I nodded and pulled out a couple of hairs from my head and she had me placed them in a baggy then I was free to go. She told me that I would be given a call when the results were in. I walked out of the room and met up with my mother in the waiting room. She drove me to school and I went into the main office to sign in.
Luckily it was 4th period so I could hang out with Elijah. I went to my locker and grabbed my books for fourth period and then went to Elijah’s locker to wait for her. There were a lot of kids in the halls trying to get to their next class and to their lockers, talk to their friends, and whatever else they did.
I smiled at Eli when she was making her way over to her locker. A smile spread across her face and she moved a little faster to get to me.
“Where were you this morning, you had me worried.” She pushed me a little.
“I-I had my doctors appointment remember?” I replied.
“Oh right, I forgot about that actually.” She opened her locker and grabbed her books for our next period and then we walked together. “So what did they say?” She asked.
“Well, they said that I’m good to play gym, b-but I’m still going to be sore for a few weeks.” I answered.
“There’s something else your not telling me.” She said and I felt my face heat up a bit.
“I-I’ll tell you on the walk to therapy.” I told her as we walked into class.
“Okay.” She nodded and we sat down in our seats.
Today was the pep rally at least that’s what Eli told me. It’s the day that we get out of our classes early and all the teams do something to get everyone pumped up for the big football game then the dace on Saturday. We didn’t really get much done in class, or any of our classes really. Then it was off to the pep rally. It was loud and it really hurt my head to be there. I managed to find Eli and we sat next to each other at the top of one of the bleachers.
