Tracked Down

~Kisha~

I tightened my bag and made sure my inventory was full of potions before heading out. I was highly interested in Zack and Sig. After careful consideration, I felt like I could get really far with them, especially if they continued to be as chivalrous as they were before. I decided to also stop at the weapons store and buy a small dagger for the journey as well. I hoped to catch up with them, and watch them a little bit longer before directly confronting them. I had quit my job as a waitress, so now there was no turning back.

‘Geez, what an idiot…’ I thought as I heard Zack noisily fall out of a tree. I had finally gotten to the forest of tall trees and caught up with them. I bought myself a semi warm coat, although I didn’t have much money left. None for real snow boots or leggings. This snow would kill me faster than some of the monsters, this weather wasn’t very plant friendly. I lowered myself down into the snow from my perch in a small tree. They seemed to be getting along nicely, which was good and bad for me, because their bond was stronger now, and trying to worm my way into their party might be trickier than expected. Sig was the one I was most unsure of, there was still a lot I didn’t know about him, he was pretty mysterious. Zack seemed pretty simple, but anything could happen. I pulled my coat around me more and circled a little to the east, so I could come out of the trees beside them, rather than behind them. I heard them saying something about getting the now apparently broken bow repaired, and raised my voice.

“H-Hello? Who’s there?” I said. They both turned quickly and drew their weapons. “Don’t attack me please…I mean no harm, I’m just, so lost…” I moved out from behind the tree.

“The woman from the pub.” Sig said, not moving.

“Um…Kisha, right?” Zack asked, lowering his bow slightly. I nodded.

“I, don’t work there anymore.” I said carefully.

“I would say that’s a good thing, considering what you had to put up with.” Zack said.

“Yeah, anyway, I came here to try to level up, but now I don’t know where I am and the cold hurts.” I shivered, genuinely. It was true, I was going through my potions at a decent pace. “Please, will you two help me? You helped me before, and I’ll make it worth your while if you help me again.” Sig looked at me, rather stone faced and Zack looked at Sig. He probably wanted to help, but it more than likely would be up to Sig. I hoped I could join their party, and finally get out of here.
