Awe man...

♣ Zack♣

“HEY GET BACK HERE YOU DAMN CAT!” An older man shouted as I jumped out of the three story window with a bag over my left shoulder and a bun sticking out of my mouth.

It was just a little food and I won the bet fair and square…okay kind of…maybe I cheated a little not telling them my real name for them to look up my rank, but hell, I was hungry and I wanted food! So I didn’t tell them I was really good at archery. Maybe I told them that I just got to the game a few days ago. That’s not bad right? I wasn’t hurting anyone; just a little target practice was all. I was in the area 2 in the small town that was here for weary travelers to rest up and get some better gear if they couldn’t find it by killing things.

I’ve been here for a few years. What like two? Maybe three? I don’t know any more. I kind of stopped keeping track. I kind of remember my real world life, but it was starting to become a bit of a blur.

When I gently landed on the snow covered ground ran as fast as I could occasionally feeling my foot slip as I tried to take a turn. Once I got out into the woods I climbed up into a tree and swiped my right hand in front of me to open up my menu. I clicked on my inventory and the bag that I was carrying pixilated and went into my inventory.

I sat down and leaned against the frozen tree trunk as I grabbed the bun out of my mouth so I could chew the piece that I ripped off and looked at my stats. The jump hurt a little bit, but with the ability that I just got I should get my health back soon. I should go and get more ingredients so I can make more high potions and elixirs, but I do that all the time. And I’m rank four for crying out loud, why do I keep sell my elixirs to these new people that keep coming. Don’t they know that this game is just death, once you long in you can’t get out.

I bit into my bun again and chewed slowly as I looked at how much Glimmer I had. I was a hoarder with my money okay; if there was some other way of getting something with out having to pay for it then I’ll do it. Though I was getting close to the glimmer cap and I knew that I would have to spend some soon. Oh well so is life when you play a game. If I wasn’t so sarcastic maybe I could make some friends. My first couple of groups that I was in didn’t particularly like how light hearted and sarcastic about things I was so they kicked me out of the group. Especially after we got the news that you could die in this game. And I’m not talking about dying as in, oh I’ll just get respawned in area 1 and then keep going. Nope it was game over, your done like dinner, and all that jazz.

“Oh! I just need four more Iceine felts and I can make an elixir of life!” I exclaimed to myself as I popped the rest of my bun into my mouth and talked with my mouth full like a child. I was 25 I really should act my age but meh, whatever. If I want to be a child from time to time then I’m going to.

My cheeks puffed out because of how much bun I had in my mouth I looked towards the direction that I heard a scream. I swallowed my bun and coughed slightly from how much I swallowed at once as I got up. I jumped from tree branch to tree branch as I ran towards where the scream had come from. I pulled my bow out in front of me and clutched it in my right hand.

There was a small group of people fighting a large pack of Iceines. It was a joint group of eight, but there were only four of them, and judging at how one of them was down they weren’t going to make it through.

I drew an arrow out of my quiver and quickly pulled back getting the Iceine that was about to jump at the group and the medic of the group of all people and released my arrow as I jumped out of the tree. I heard a gasp from the girl that my arrow went flying past and truck the Iceine right in the skull making it drop like a rock. I pulled out another arrow as I was walking closer to the group and shot another arrow at the next closest Iceine.

The kids stood there in awe as the monsters went down with one crit hit. “Don’t just stand there like a bump on a long, get up and help. If you want to experience points get in there.” I ordered them and I quickly drew another arrow and shot the arrow at the next charging monster.

After we cleared the pack of monsters I swiped m hand for my menu and got out a few elixir’s and potions. “Here.” I tossed them to the group.

“T-thank you.” The girl said on the ground and she tended to her friend. I picked up the six pelts that were left behind from the Iceines and went back over to the group.

“How can we repay you?” The other girl that was fighting with me asked.

I opened my menu once again and went into my inventory. “Usually I ask about 150 glimmer for each elixir and potion that I give out. Then it’s plus 50 for each higher version of a potion of an elixir.” I told them and clicked on the bag of buns and had it come out. Then I reached into my pouch and pulled out some herb honey that I had mixed up and handed the buns and honey mixture to the girl that was standing. “Let me keep the pelts and promise me that you’ll go back to area one until your at least five to ten levels higher then you are now.” I told them.

“But what are these for?” She asked.

“The bun’s were just freshly made maybe like an hour or so ago and that’s a honey herb mixture that will taste good on it. It will also help heal whatever ailments or wounds that you have.” I answered confidently.

“Thank you again.” Both girls said helping the boy of the group up.

“Now get going.” I told them as I put the pelts in my inventory.

They thanked me again and headed back towards town to go back to area one. I sighed. “Man, there goes my food for the week, now I need to find more food.” I complained looking at my glimmer count. “Maybe I could just go spend the night in a hotel tonight. I haven’t been in area one for a while. Might as well go there.” I muttered to myself closing my menu.
