Des's Week in Not Writing a Post

I decided to stop doing the week in anime screen shots posts when I realized that in the time it took to write them and link all the screens I could instead watch another three, four, maybe even more episodes per week. I still kept track of the episodes I watched and the number came out to be about the same. Except that I spent a lot more time than usual that week playing video games instead of watching anime. (Hello there, FFIV The After Years.) So, yeah, not really worth it.

In their place, though, I set up a MyAnimeList account and stuck in my intro its little dynamic image log of what I've watched recently. It also links to my MAL history page if you're interested in seeing farther back.

I also still upload plenty of screen shots to my ImageShack account. If you're really interested, you can just look through them there. Most of what you see in the MAL log will have at least a couple screens uploaded.

Finally, if I can get around to it, I might start making posts whenever I begin a new series. Incidentally, I happen to have started a new series recently.

I picked up Fushigiboshi no Futago Hime (or The Twin Princesses of the Mysterious Star if you want an English translation) completely on a whim. It's a magical girl anime produced by Hal Film Maker and directed by Sato Junichi, the same combo as Aria. It's also got Goto Yuko and Kojima Megumi (you might know her from the third Cardcaptor Sakura ED, Fruits Candy) voicing the twin princesses. And yes, it's deliciously cute and sparkly.

It doesn't look as good as Shugo Chara! from the couple episodes I've watched so far but I can still use some more magical girl anime in my line-up. And hey, it's got twins. Even if it is totally overused, it's cute every time both of them say the same thing in unison. Though that makes it all the more funny when they completely differ from each other at times.

There's two four-season series of it, totaling 103 episodes, and the only group that seems to be active in subbing it only has ep28 out as of now. Once I catch up it'll be another little series to watch an episode of every once in a while whenever the group happens to release, like I'm doing with the [Sakura] releases of Cardcaptor Sakura. That's one of the nice things about magical girl anime, they're perfect for watching one episode at a time.
