News: The Next Actor to Play Batman on the Big Screen

During the weekend, I had found out from CBC.ca that Warner Bros. has officially found an actor to play Bruce Wayne/Batman for the upcoming 2015 sequel to Man of Steel, and although an official title isn't yet revealed, it will officially be the first theatrical live-action film to show Superman and Batman together in one tale. The actor to play the Dark Knight himself is none other than the man who played Matt Murdock/Daredevil in the film Daredevil: Ben Affleck. So DC Universe fans, keep in mind that you're about to see a Batman from outside the continuity of Batman Begins, that is if you plan on seeing the film once it comes out. Anyway, Zack Snyder had this to say regarding the casting decision:

"Affleck has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne".

Although I was hoping that the Batman in this upcoming superhero film will be someone other than Bruce Wayne (like say Jean-Paul Valley or even Dick Grayson) with Brcue Wyane taking a several-years hiatus from appearing on the big screen after appearing in The Dark Knight Rises, I am so game to seeing this flick once it's out. Moreover, despite not seeing much of Affleck's acting performances, I say, "give the guy a chance and judge his portrayal of the Dark Knight after watching the movie". Hopefully, despite the internet backlash that's already taking place, this sequel will be a box office hit, especially when it will prelude the theatrical live-action Justice League movie (now intended by Warner Bros. for a 2017 release).
