Search of Roses

Kei breathed in a deep breath, just to have it knocked out of him again. Turned out, he was alive, just unconscious, and woke to my voice. However, the moment he tried to talk, someone hit him with a whip. Somehow, overnight, we got caught by our enemies. Their kingdom seemed to be called Dim Kingdom, and they were the Dimians, or something like that. Why Dim? How should I know? Why do they want the rose princess? Again, I don’t know. Doesn’t my knowledge amaze you?
“Hey, why is the girl in handcuffs?” One guard asked another.
“Don’t know, but she’s with this guy. We have to make sure she doesn’t escape.”
“So that’s why we gave her grade F chains.” Grade F chains? They have different grades for chains? That’s just odd. Well, turns out I am being underestimated again. I broke free out of the chains, and the soldiers grasp in less than three seconds. And in less then a minute, I had knocked every guard unconscious.
“That was fun.” I mumbled. Kei just smiled at me.
“Hey, no smiling on a death mission.” I joked. Then, other soldiers started coming. With guns. Guns you hear me! All we had were knives, and I didn’t want to kill people! There personality was the opposite. I hope that we weren’t about to become ‘dead meat’. Kei and I had to fight our way though, disabling most people. I knocked everyone who was within three feet of me unconscious. We were in battle with a million soldiers, and I wanted to go running around screaming.
“Rin!!” Kei called. He threw a gun at me. I tried to shoot anywhere besides the head and heart. I wasn’t about to start killing people just yet. I didn’t want to become blood thirsty. Then, before I realized it, we made it into the castle, were a lot more guards came at us. Now I started screaming and running around. I was glad no one seemed to have guns this time. We made it to the second to last floor where we figured out Hikaru was kept, until a guard came in front of us. He was big and bulky and seemed strong. I ran out of bullets, so this was going to be a problem.
“Sorry kiddos. No entrance.” He said blocking our path. He had a big axe with him. Apparently, I couldn’t think straight because of the loss of blood and charged right at him. He lifted his axe high in the air and swung it at me. I ducked, and kicked him. It didn’t seem to have any effect. I tried again. Then, I punched him in the face. He turned purple with rage, which looked creepy, and again aimed his axe at me. This time, it hit me in the arm, the exact area I got hit with the bullet.
“Rah!” I screamed. It was too painful. I felt like passing out. I fell to the ground.
“RIN!!” Kei yelled in fear. The man started kicking me. Right when I was about to fall down the edge of the spiraling stairs, Kei grabbed my arm.
“Hold on Rin!” He said, trying to pull me up. It was no use. The guard stepped on Kei’s arm making him shout in pain and let go of me. I fell down fast. Tears came to my eyes. Was it all going to end like this? Was I seriously going to plummet to my death? Was I going to go splat at the bottom? I tried to laugh at my last question, but a choked sob came instead. Then, somehow, I started to levitate. I also felt something on my back. I tried to turn and see, and saw black wings. They were temporary wings. I remembered, were I got them. It was from magic put into a bracelet I was wearing now. My mom gave it to me before she died, but that’s a different story. This is my story right now, and right now I had to go and save Kei before he plummets to his death. When I finally flew back up, the guard instantly cowered and screamed. I grinned evilly. Kei turned and saw me.
“An- an- an- an angel of de-de -death!!” The gaurd screamed. He ran away when I raised a fist. When, he was out of sight, Kei and I started laughing.
“That was awesome!” Kei said. Then he stopped laughing. “Wait, we’re on a death mission.” He said seriously, but I saw the joy in his eyes.
“Well it’s almost over.” I said. I pushed him toward the door. He turned and I smiled.
“Go on. Get your princess.” I said. As I said this though, my heart constricted with pain. Kei opened the door and walked inside. I followed close behind.
“Hikaru?” Kei called. Then, I saw her. The beautiful princess was staring out the window. Her long pink hair was in a braid for once, and she was wearing tattered clothes. She grinned when she saw us get in. Well, when Kei went in. She just glanced at me.
“Kei!!” She said happily, leaping into Kei’s arms. My heart felt as if it was stabbed again. I got out a little device. It was to transport back to the palace when our mission was done. I activated it, and with Kei and Hikaru still hugging, we were transported.
