The cheetah halfer looked a few years older than most of us here. But I think Seth and I have him beat for age. He was scruffy looking and had a cold stare.
"Hi there!" I said and held out my hand, "My name's Io."
The boy didn't even move his arm. "Ace," he said, "who are you guys?"
"We're all halfers just like you," Ariel told him.
"This is a joke," Ace said disbelievingly.
"You already know that I am," Sky said.
"But that doesn't mean the rest of you are!" This kid acted like he knew everything.
Quickly, as is someone gave a signal, the entire group morphed. I let a huge roar, stuck my nose in his face and teased, "Believe us now?"
