Chapter One: Wake up!!

-Kuori-

“Hey Kuroi, get up.” I heard my best friend yell at me.

I didn’t move from my spot on the roof of the school building. I kept my eyes closed and turned away from Miyuki. The sun was warm and I didn’t want to leave my spot on the roof and go back to class. I had a job that I had to do tonight and I needed all the sleep I could get before hand.

“Kuroi!” She shouted and I felt a quick sharp pain in my stomach. I clutched my stomach and opened my eyes. My bangs somewhat covered the sun from killing my eyes but it still hurt either way.

“What is your problem I’m trying to sleep.” I grumbled slowly sitting up with one hand still on my gut. “And you got a shoe print on my uniform, thanks a lot Mi.” I complained and got smacked upside the head for it. “What?!”

“I thought I told you not to call me Mi.” She responded.

“Whatever.” I scoffed and stood up brushing the dirt off my uniform. “I’ve been calling you that since we were little, why do you have to be so picky about it now?” I muttered under my breath.

“You’ve been sleeping a lot lately is something wrong?” Miyuki questioned as we walked down the steps into the school.

“I’m a growing boy I need my sleep.” I lied actually I think I was pretty much done growing.

“Well you need to stop growing.” She huffed.

“Awe is someone jealous that she isn’t taller then me anymore?” I smirked and she punched me in the same spot that she kicked me earlier. “That hurt.” I muttered putting a hand against the lockers trying to catch my breath.

“I am not jealous.” She said crossing her arms “Although it would be better if you shrunk a couple of inches.” I heard her mutter under her breath.

“Ha I was right you are jealous that I’m taller then you.” I smirked.

The next thing I knew she took my feet out from under me and I hit the ground. “Well maybe if you didn’t grow like a fricken’ weed over the summer then we wouldn’t have this problem. It’s not fair it was only the last couple of months too and I’m a year older then you too.” She pouted.

“Are you going to help me up?” I asked holding out a hand. ‘Besides a lot more has happened to me in the last couple of months then you know Miyuki.’ I thought.

“You’re not the one with a job you know.” She commented Taking my hand and helping my up off the floor. “I should be the one that takes the naps not you.”

“Oh right so following a guy around who steals things is completely normal for every girl your age and younger.” I stated.

“Hey I’m a reporter it’s my job to find out what I can on Zero.” Miyuki commented as we walked down the hall to our lockers.

“I don’t understand what’s so great about him though. And you know what I noticed that a lot of manga characters have the name Zero as a name. Like in Code Geass, or Vampire Knight.” I suggested.

“Why do you refer things back to your comics?” She responded.

“Their not comics their manga get it right there is a difference.” I mentioned.

“What ever.” She sighed and we stopped at her locker first.

“So why do you have to follow Zero around again?” I questioned.

“It’s for a story that I’m writing alright, I told you this before Kuroi.” She groaned.

“I know it’s just fun watching you get mad.” I smiled.

“Will you ever grow up?” She asked and hit me in the face with her locker door.

“What is it beat up Kuroi day or something?” I asked rubbing my nose.

“No it’s beat up Kuroi month.” She answered and shut her locker after grabbing some of her books.

“Oh I haven’t seen this note book before what’s in it?” I asked going to reach for the little green notebook that was resting on top of the rest of her books.

“It’s none of your concern.” She huffed and turned away from me.

“You’re no fun Miyuki.” I muttered and then straighten up then walked to my locker which was all the way at the end of all the lockers in our class. That’s what I get though for having a last name that starts with a Y.
