Okay, so I might be watching a rare feat: Not only is a side story/spin-off better than its main story, but the spin-off's 2nd season is also better than the 1st.
In case anyone isn't aware of either anime, A Certain Magical Index is the main story, while A Certain Scientific Railgun is the side story. I gotta say that the latter stands tall compared to the former.
A Certain Scientific Railgun S, the 2nd season, so far is a tad darker in content, which makes some of the scenes slightly more upsetting. You just have to cheer for Mikoto Misaka as she grits her teeth and carries on more determined.
MAL currently has it ranked at #123 and scored at 8.43, which might be a bit high, but it's not that far off the mark (for once). It really is shaping up to be that good.
