Mirror Eyes: The tale of the Quoheleth

Prologue
For as long as she could remember, magic existed all around her. Whether it was the real magic of the existing world or the power of mighty sorcerors, she could feel it. Feel it, but not see it.
Sixteen years she spent wandering among the darkness. Sixteen years of only imagining what a vibrant and colorful world was like. her whole lofe od seeing no one she loved. The whispers and voices that flew into her ears told her she was worthless, broken, a monster.
They were just as wrong as they were right. Quoheleth, the delicate child of her father's home, was not worthless. She was very beautiful and her father loved her dearly. but without her sight, she may as well have been broken. People saw her as a lovely, rare, but wilting flower no one would save.
A savior came along. He was a thief and a master crystal maker who fell head over heels with the girl. Desperate to win her heart, the boy pleaded with a witch doctor to help him.
"Of course my dear boy, for you serve me well. However, be warned. Upon the mirror eyes I put a spell. They will melt upon a loved one's rejection of this strange girl. For only in true unity with hterself will she find true love."
And this was to be the girl's sixteenth birthday present, the ability to see. Yet in the eyes of the people, a songbird in a thief's arms was forbidden. And all he could do for this harpist was watch over her as a loving guardian angel. He was the best friend who kept his true feelings to himself.
