“Hey,” I heard someone say from behind me. I turned, and saw a girl that I recognized coming my way. I studied her, trying to remember what class she was in with me. “Your Kyon, right?”
I remembered her now, Miss sarcastic. I smiled warmly, nodding. "I sure am. And you're Kira." It wasn't a question, but a statement. She was a human, but one with powers. I believe it was something to do with heat and fire, and she was really athletic, just like Kyoka. Speaking of which, where was she?
Kira nodded, her black and purple hair bouncing on her bare shoulders. "That's me. So, you have to help out all the newbies, huh?"
I nodded. "It's all part of the job. It may not be the best job, but it gives me an excuse to get to know the new kids," I smiled, opening the door for a girl who had her arms full.
Kira shook her head, a small smile on her lips. "You're such a goody goody."
"And that's a bad thing?" I asked, picking up an object one of the boys dropped and handing it back to them. "I like to help people, that's all. Don't want the kids to be scared on their first day here."
Kira nodded, not really seeming to care one way or the other. "So, where's the twin?" She looked around.
I shrugged. "Last I saw she was helping some girl to her room. Knowing Kyoka, she's probably helping the girl unpack. She gets a little too attached the new freshmen."
Kira nodded again, rolling her shoulders. The sky was grey and raining ever so slightly, casting the area in a mist. I wiped the rain out of my face with my free hand and yawned. I could use a nap soon.
