Helping Out

“I’d be happy to help,” I grinned at the young freshman. She seemed kind of wary of me, but she was new here, so it was expected. I suppose it didn't help that she was probably used to being picked on, but I would have none of that. Suddenly, her bag started moving and this cat stepped out.

“Mmm, it was so stuffy in there,” the cat stretched and licked her paw.

“You didn’t have to ruin it!” Miyo cried looking at what remained of her bag.

“Sorry! It was fun though!” she laughed.

I was intrigued. Never before had I seen such a thing, but this was Kuro Bara Academy. Anything was possible, I guess. "Wow, that's really neat, Miyo-chan. You have quite the surprise, huh?" I smiled as I knelt down towards the cat. "Hey kitty. I'm Kyoka!"

"I'm Kuna," she replied eying me. She was probably wary of strangers, probably used to people making fun of Miyo. I was bound and determined to make sure they trusted me. I was not like everyone else. It didn't matter to me who or what you were.

I sighed and looked around. Kyoka had vanished, probably helping some scared freshman. She always had been good at consoling others and helping those in need. I admired her care-free nature; it was like second nature for her. But, then again, I was pretty easy to get along with, though not as good with the consoling part of it. I hated it when I girl cries.

I looked around for anyone to help, but everyone was getting the hang of it, and no one seemed to need any help, which made me sad. I didn't like just standing here. I wanted to do something. I sighed and waited around patiently. Hopefully, someone would need me.
